This won't be the day

to say, "Hooray!"

Fred has the cred

Acs vs Ace today. There numbers are very similar.

No Winker in the lineup tonight for the Mets, and apparently Mets fans are not happy that Nimmo is not batting second. They seem to hate Vientos,

the queens hourly forecast didn't look promising, but the radar I looked at showed everything staying to the north

mets fans aren't happy with what this does to their rotation heading into the Yankees series this weekend

Then perhaps they should've put a roof on their stadium.

Doubleheader works out okay for the Brewers. Bullpen is rested with two straight days off, Woodruff available to pitch the weekend so no emergency starter due to the doubleheader and Miz gets an extra days of rest before his start next week.

With the double header I wouldn't now be surprised to see Chad Patrick stay in the rotation for one more start over the weekend as well as Woodruff. You can't ask Peralta to throw Wednesday and Sunday on three days rest

Updated the title and first post to reflect the doubleheader.

And then I merged in the other thread and broke it.... and edited the title again. 🤦‍♂️

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I agree. Adding a 6th starter also then pushes Peralta past the Marlins to get the first game against the Dodgers on Monday, would give him the final start before the AS break against the Nationals, and then (pending his involvement in the AS game) he would be aligned to start the first game back from break against the Dodgers again. That feels like the correct chess move.

Wednesday’s games are scheduled for 1:10 p.m. ET/12:10 CT and 7:10 p.m. ET/6:10 CT.

The Brewers will keep their scheduled starting pitchers in order, meaning Freddy Peralta is scheduled to start Game 1 and 23-year-old phenom Jacob Misiorowski is set for Game 2.

For the Mets, Clay Holmes is scheduled to get the ball in Game 1, looking to follow up a strong June. The right-hander posted a 2.93 ERA over five starts, allowing only one run in three of them. New York has not yet announced who will start the twinbill nightcap. Blade Tidwell was originally slated to go against Misiorowski in the second game of the series, but the Mets will first get through Game 1 before deciding their pitching plans.

One run is better than nothing. But we don't want to give it right back Freddie.

2 outs on a great pitch @ 97 but high pitch count and Soto flies out. 😃
