Dennis Krause just said on Spectrum Tobias Myers may be on the trading block to acquire a decent bat.

Did this come from the Brewers or just his speculation.  Most people on this board could make that speculation, but if it came from the brewers that would be noteworthy.

It was on Spectrum Sports and is his speculation since the words, "may be on the trading block" was in his statement.  But with over 40 years in the business I trust him more than the others just trying to get attention for themselves.

Has the first half of the 2024 or 2025 regular season been more enjoyable?

I appreciate it is more important how a season ends. Both 2024 and 2025 teams might finish with 55 wins at the break.

It would be nice if Myers put a few zeros this weekend. At present, is his value worth much more than a Mark Canha style bat?

His value is significantly higher than a Mark Canha style bat.

I don’t believe the Brewers will move Tobias for anything less than a position player with multiple years of control.

The only rookie pitchers who topped his 3.4 rWAR last year were Skenes and Imanaga & he followed that up with five scoreless in the playoffs.

Obviously the oblique threw him off track to start this year, but he’s got a 65 ERA- | 77 FIP- in AAA, a scooch better than Logan Henderson’s 70 ERA- | 85 FIP- with Nashville.

Hard to tell exactly what his worth is.  He was a very good starter last year and is only 26 with nearly 6 more years of control.  That should be worth a lot.  you could make a case that he should get Priester level return.  He's older but has had better major league success.

Myers is worth so much more than a low level bat.

If we take on the money Myers should get you Saurez straight up. If we ask for a salary offset then we would have to add something to the deal .. Carlos Rodriguez or a low level+ guy or something.

Half a decade of a cheap middle of the rotation guy is so valuable! As others pointed out, Myers has a better resume than what Priester did and we sent over a nice package to get him. I wouldn't be surprised if Myers has more trade value than Suarez.

Myers and Priester seem like a good comparison. 1-2 lottery tickets plus comp pick is different than decent MLB ready bat to help us in 2025, in my opinion.

Seeing Woodruff and Peralta listed as the starting pitchers the next two games feels really good, doesn’t it?

It's hard for me to get a handle on exactly what Myers would bring back. But larger picture, it just astounds me how unbelievable this organization has been at decision making & identifying talent. As late as 2022, Myers pitched for three different organizations (AAA) & went a combined 1-15 w/a WHIP over 2 & an ERA well over 7. Placed on waivers by one team; released by another. And now we're speculating about him possibly bringing in one of the biggest bats on the market.

I say build a force field around Hook, Henderson & the pitching lab & cover the whole thing with a golden dome.

Yep - it's also why I think looking to trade a guy like Myers makes sense now when there are more arms coming.

I think Myers plus one of the talented but raw young prospect tearing up low A ball + a lotto ticket could return a player like Jose Ramirez (i.e., impact bat at a position of need).

It's nice to be beyond deep with talent across the organization, and have the development staff in correct places to get the most out of it.

IMO it would take more than that For Ramirez. If you're correct then that definitely has to be explored.

Good young starting pitching always has value especially with his year last year. The O's gave up 2 really solid pieces for Trevor Roger's and I think a point can be made that Myers value is as good or better than Roger's last year.

Would the Mets be interested, I have long like Ronny Mauricio. All IF positions possible and the athleticism to play OF.

Today's the day we move into first!

The Cubs (and Max Fried) seem to have other plans.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I dont think so, when I'm thinking the low minors prospect could be Made...plus Myers and a third prospect.  Ive wanted Ramirez in Milwaukee for years and know how good he is.

If Cleveland prefers to pay Ramirez the rest of his contract over seasons they dont have enough around him to contend (or Ramirez doesnt waive his NTC), fine....but there's no way they would get a trade package better than what i'm thinking from a different team.  Hell,  if other teams looking to add aren't in the market at this year's deadline, replace Made with an upper tier prospect that isnt quite as highly regarded in the brewers' system and it would still be pretty valuable with the amount of MLB service time Myers still has.
