This will actually be Quintana's start.  Freddy will start on Tuesday.

Probably a good idea. Give him an extra day's rest to go against Skenes.

A sneaky series. Nearly every game against Pittsburgh has been close this season.

Yeah Pittsburgh always seems to step it up a notch whenever they play Milwaukee.  If the Brewers sweep, it's free burgers.

Feel like there's nothing sneaky about it when you factor in they are facing Skenes and Keller.

Also puts Peralta in line for first game in Cubs series vs last game in Reds.

Has George Webb said they will do the free burger thing?

Yes, they indicated so when the Brewers got close in July.

Insane amount of free advertising they get every time the Brewers go on a winning streak.  The "free burgers" prediction has to be one of the most successful local marketing promotions ever

I think they've only had to pay our twice, and the amount of new business those two times generated for them probably dwarfs the amount of cost the free burgers had

They're also likely (now that he can retain rookie eligibility in 2026) to promote Bubba Chandler this weekend against the Chicago Cubs

This would be great news!

In the past we might have gone 10 years between free burger opportunities. It has been exactly 20 days since our 11-game winning streak was snapped.

Brewers roughing up Heaney tonight so it's his last start as a Pirate with Chandler replacing him would be cool with me.

Let's not fall behind early this time! Too much stress on poor old Bob Crawley.

Saw somewhere on this board that the Brewers are 21-10 in the last 31 times they fell behind after being 2-20 before that. Still below .500. If my math is right, that makes us 50-14 when we score first…

The "score first" stat always makes me wonder what the winning % for any team would be if they were given one run to begin the game.

Lowkey this series could go sideways if they don’t get a w tonight.     Tough pitching matchups after that.    And does that mean the cubs miss those good pitchers this weekend?

sometimes it’s not who you play but when you play them

Significantly lower than just a "score first" qualifier; slightly lower than a "get one run and only one run during the first half inning a run is scored" qualifier.
