I don't disagree with any of the rankings but I find it incredible the quality of guys in our organization that don't make the top 30

Tate Kuehner, Ethan Dorchies, Jaden Dubaniweicz, Melvin Hernandez, Manny Rodriguez, Ryan Birchard, Jacob Morrison, Sean Epipscope, Josh Flores, Jaron DeBerry, Jason Woodward, KC Hunt, Carlos Rodriguez, among others all would be top 30 prospects on a majority of teams just for pitching. (Missing a bunch of other potential upside arms in that list)

Dylan O'Rae, Jose Rodriguez, Juan Ortuno, Handlefry Encarnacion, Matt Wood, Ricky Moneys, Fenelon, Antunez, Frias, Boeve, Black would be top 30 potential bats again among others.

I would guess we have like 75ish players in the stystem that I would say could be quality mlb players if they develop well and aren't majorly blocked.

Question for thought: Is the Brewers depth so extreme in comparison to normal that it is systematically under rated by outside evaluators? AKA despite having lots of eyes there is still a fundamental bias towards everyone gets a top 30, so whether it is the hype factor or just National evaluators have to spend time on other teams 20-30 prospects instead of our 30-50 are those players not getting their full due?

The difference is that our depth is unproven, over-drafted, and under 20. No hype at all, and everything needs to be earned.

Other teams probably have equal current talent grades but I’m personally not going to count a 23 year old, 8th round drafted, 35 FV guy like an 18 year old valued the same.

But it’s also not a video game, and potentials don’t always go up. We just got to ride it out and say “duh, told you so” when it all works out (hopefully).

Dorchies is on there at 20.

It should also be noted that many teams have those guys, the ones who could have a shot if things break right. We know our guys best but when you semi-follow other teams you'll see the same phenomenon.

That's not to say the system isn't deep...I find it heartening to see that aside from Fischer, the highest draft/IFA addition is at 15; the guys already in the system are good enough that new talent to the org needs to prove itself. Contrast that to 2021 when nearly their entire prior year's draft was immediately in the top 20: Mitchell (1), Zamora (8), Warren (11), Hayden Cantrelle (16). (oddly, I suppose, Wiemer was not listed but rocketed up later) Plus IFAs who had yet to debut: Hedbert Perez (3), Quero (9), Medina (13), and Chourio (15).

Look for RHP Ryan Birchard within -

With the starting pitching depth would it be best just to move Birchard to the pen now? I get that he has more value as a starter but even if he takes a step forward with control he is still likely a reliever down the road. With the stuff mentioned and his likely path to the bigs as a reliever shouldn't we just learn into the curve.

I think he can keep starting, more innings and experience will help him even if he goes to the bullpen. But I agree he does scream future late inning reliever with a potentially high velo arsenal.

If we could get even 1 or 2 of the Domimican guys from the past 2 signing classes on big time prospect status our system will be insane. I do suppose we will have a good amount of guys losing prospects status this year so maybe it will just be needed replacements.

Did the Pirates and Cardinals really merit to leap frog Milwaukee in terms of best farm systems according to Baseball America's 2026 preseason rankings? Released back in February.

BA is all about loud tools and high ceilings. We draft underslot guys at the top and take bites of the apple at a bunch of nobodies at the bottom.

Those high draft picks are always going to rocket past us.
