At least it wasn't 4-3 for Yelich. I'm guessing we will hear a sad story about how Yelich was gutting it out and playing with a bad back this playoffs.

No, not Pollyanna optimism (though things did work out for her)... I know we have our backs against the wall.

But teams never win a championship if they give up when things get hard.  Why should I?

You are avoiding the point I was making

We both love the Brewers & Hope they win this series

Do you believe they will win or are you realistic in your expectations regarding this series?

He can ground out weakly just fine without your encouragement.

Haha!   I just didn’t want him to get a garbage time hit.  And he certainly didn’t.

Fun season.  June, July, first half of August were a blast.  Most wins in baseball.  6-0 against these guys in the regular season was enjoyable.  The crazy win streaks were pure joy, especially when we were able to pile up runs for the first time in recent years.

Alas, it will be over shortly.

Yeah.   I don’t want to hear that either.

It’s always sad when your season is winding to a close. I’ll always still be grateful that our season didn’t end at the hands of the Cubs.

1.6 runs per game since Game 2 of the NLDS.

That will not cut the mustard.

I'm just not sure you can AnnoyingBall your way to a championship when winning random games against Cincinnati's 3rd starter by stealing bases doesn't matter anymore. And that is absolutely not a criticism of the Brewers. They are incredible at what they do. But I think they have basically maxed out what they'll be able to do in this league.

Yeah.   That was the minimum.   That validates the season.    Losing to the dodgers isn’t the end of the world

But Cripes sakes Turang just wear that one.    This series would be a lot more fun

Yelich isn’t leaving $75MM on the table so we’re stuck with him.  He won’t retire.  Until Attanasio decides he wants to actually spend some real money for a bat (he can but he won’t), this contract is going to continue to be an albatross.

I decided in the DS that finding a way to beat the Cubs and avoid yet another postseason series collapse will be acceptable progress for me and I would not be upset about whatever came next. I intend to honor that promise to myself.

That being said, getting the privilege of watching the Dodgers give me a half a billion dollar lesson in modern baseball economics with Snell and Yamamoto is fairly irritating, to say the least.

Yeah, the approaches need to be better, especially the flipping lefties, who are coming up small in nearly all seven postseason games so far. But the story is these starters doing exactly what they are being paid princely sums to do, and we have no answers.

"Backs against the wall" generally means that you believe there is a low chance of success.

But perhaps you are missing the point I'm making... It doesn't matter if I believe we can win the series or not.  I simply cheer to win the next game and don't worry about the end.  I'm just here trying to enjoy the journey.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

He’s been worthwhile enough in the regular season, but he really needed a few October moments. He’s done the opposite.

You have a 21 year old on this roster who has looked far more mentally tough when it comes to playoff baseball.

Their 9 hitter would be like our team leader in home runs. One free agent bat that will look like Yelich in 3 years is not the answer to our problems. We would need like 6 of them.

There is hopefully a modest upgrade to Ortiz out there though for at least the ‘26 and ‘27 seasons.

1 inning of the Dodger bullpen that we saw in 2 games. 1 inning.

That is sad.

THIS.

The key to beating LAD was getting to their BP.  Their achilles heel.  It is the only way they will turn it around.

I fear they have Made penciled in for 2027 and will decide that means riding with Ortiz for 2026.

The gameplan to hack early and often against the pitcher who gives up the fewest H/9 was a choice that did not pan out.
