He is a 4th OF type. We have 2 important OFs that are hurt so of course he's been thrusted into an everyday role. He is not supposed to be a starter.

Yes. Just because someone isn't a superstar doesn't mean they belong in the minors. Lockridge is clearly a 4th OF type. He's hitting .267, he's not a black hole.

Bro, am I arguing that this lineup is great?

Why even bother commenting? You just have nothing better to do than point out technically Lockridge isn't a minor leaguer? Ridiculous. Next Joey Ortiz is a major league shortstop.

I don't think I have seen a worse hitting everyday position player than Joey Ortiz.

JBJ was pretty rough that one year for us.

Yeah, I just don’t really agree at all. Where was he before we traded for him last year? The minors. Pre August 2025 Blake Perkins was a 4th OF type. Had Perkins not somehow turned into a complete pumpkin since then, Lockridge would still be behind him.

He's a replacement level player with a career OPS that would make Joey Ortiz blush. His defense and baserunning are passable enough for him play at this level if injuries necessitate it.

He’s not a 4th outfielder that a contending team shouldn’t be actively looking to replace.

People don't get it. Mr. Canada decides today that we should be thankful we have this major league quality depth with all the injuries. It's laughable this is a contenders lineup today.

One reason I really like ABS is how it corrects the umps. Imagine how much we/the players would be frustrated with this strike zone last year? It really affects the whole game, and takes away umpire angst.

Yeah, I like the system. It’s not perfect but at least gives the hitter, catcher and pitcher some recourse to fix bad calls instead of just arguing about them. It’s not very disruptive to the game IMO.

You're mischaracterizing my pushback on your emotional rants against the state of this lineup. Let's all agree this lineup is hurting with 3 starters on the IL.

Let's get some runs and put this thing away.
