Just a random note, I don't think the hate that Hamilton gets is warranted at all. He is likely going to end the year between 1 and 2 WAR... which is really nice for a backup infielder that can spell 3 positions. It isn't his fault he has had to play 25% more than he should because both our 3B and SS can't hit.

Rengifo... Fine. Ortiz... Fine. Sal... Fine. They are suppose to be starters. Chirp them. I don't think Hamilton deserves the same level of scrutiny IMO.

I actually agree with this. He is pretty good versatile piece with speed. Just playing too much

I agree with this. You’d love to see him at least get up to a .700 OPS or so, but either way, he still has value.

The thing with Hamilton is some flexibility. He can be optioned. But, so can Sal and Ortiz and Perkins.

I can’t back this up with actual data, but intuitively a .600 OPS from Hamilton that’s propped up with a league average OBP is more useful than many .600 OPS out there because it’s all coming from OBP and you get to pair it with his elite speed.

I don’t need my 8/9 hitters to hit homers, I need them to extend the inning to bring the top of the order back up.

Additionally, also with no data to back it up, he seems very unselfish... maybe even to a fault. He advances runners for the top of the order to knock in* almost every opportunity he can and his bunting causes chaos. I may be forgetting someone... But when the ball is in play/when he is on base he causes more havoc on the base paths than anyone we've had since Gomez I think?

It seems like every "Brewers inning" we have where we score 3 with only one hit and nothing leaves the infield.... Hamilton is in the middle of it.

True... OBP is probably the most important stat for the bottom guys.

Sanchez hasn't done a bad job

He's ok for a back up and Miz @ 88 pitches probably done.

I think William should always play with Miz on the mound.

Miz/Sanchez = zero runs is ok with me.

If you can’t play in the field at all… you need to do your one singular job better than Yelich has done this season.

I mostly want him in the lineup.

Right now Sanchez is an automatic out.

Missing 1 chance with Hamilton on 3rd I can chalk up to the other guys get paid for this game too, but missing out twice on those chances is just not cool from Yelich. So far Bauers looking like co-MVP of the game on with the defense and the HR

4 for 35 is pretty bad.

But you can't burn out Contreras by playing him every single day. This is Sanchez 13th game catching. I believe.

He brings some good things to the table. But he’s a below average hitter. There’s no getting around that.
