I don't think trading them four of those guys is outlandish. (excluding the first three)

If you remove the first three you won’t get Miller.  You will need to include one of the first three.  Then three more from the remaining.

The current rumors state no one is willing to meet this asking price.

even if you throw pena in the trade, I'd do it.

Miller isn't a rental, and is absolutely dominant. It'd be like having two Misiorowskis on the team. One in the rotation, one in the bullpen.

Their asking price is different than what they will get.

If their asking price stays the same, he will remain a Padre.

Considering that Miller is likely pitching only one inning per outing, you’re actually getting less than a full Misiorowski.

And Miller is only useful if your team has the lead late in the game.

I guess the Padres aren't real motivated to move Miller then if that is really their asking price.

They are back in the WC race, I don’t think Miller is going anywhere

no way the brewers unload a big chunk of their top prospects for a reliever, even with contract remaining. They dont value relievers the way this board (and the Padres) do.  I'd say max is 1 prospect 2-4 and 1 that is 5-10.

good point, they've quietly won five straight and are only a game and a half out of the wildcard.

Fangraphs does only give them a 21% chance at the playoffs however.

I agree. I would probably give them Jett, Fischer, and 2 of the last 5

Dude what's your issue with Fischer every trade its him in it

I think if there’s one GM who would bank on that 21% chance, it’s AJ Preller.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports that the Brewers “love the idea of Mason Miller joining what’s already a superpen.”

Passan notes that the Brewers are involved in the bidding for Tarik Skubal and are certainly looking to add starting pitching depth, but they could pivot to add Miller and trust that young starters like Shane Drohan, Robert Gasser, and/or Brandon Sproat can pitch 4-5 innings before turning the game over to a dominant bullpen.

Looks at the pen that completely imploded literally yesterday.

I think we can eliminate Miller as a trade possibility.  The current rumor is that the Padres want 4 top 10 prospects.  Unless you want to give up 4 of these top 10 Made, Pena, Adamczewski, Jett, Fischer, Payne, Hardin, Letson, Knoth and Frias.

I don’t see any team coming close to giving up two let alone four of their top 10 prospects.  Miller is not going to be traded if the Padres insist on this as a return.

Jett, Fischer, Hardin & Knoth?

Sign me up.

Doubt the Padres do that though.
