With the dog days of summer and wanting to give players some time off there should be plenty of playing time for Ortiz, Pratt, and Hamilton.

Turang needs a day off here and there, too.

It's possible, but should the Brewers be all that picky at this point? They really just need someone at the back of the rotation, they don't need Ace Freddy (if that ever really existed anyway).

If that is all they want him for, then he better cost peanuts.  We already have guys for the backend of the rotation that can go 5 innings per start.

Go ahead, bring him back, but DO NOT give up any top prospects, NONE!

On a scale of 1-10, how funny would it be if the Brewers reacquired Freddy?

IMO, a 1. Not funny. Freddie’s stuff is too well known. He would get rocked by Cubs, Dodgers, Braves hitters in playoff time. No time to rehab him for us. Look to the future…

Except that Bunty McBunterson is coming back on Friday...

Great, give Murphy another choice to mess around with and screw things up.

Joey is the hot hand, PLAY HIM!  Don't mess with what is working.

Sproat reminds me too much of Freddy. Get ahead and then throw non-competitive pitches or work too hard for Ks. It's why I don't miss Freddy AT ALL Could be wrong, Sproat just might have lousy control.

Guessing today will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and sends Sproat down to AAA. Just can't be pitching 3-4 innings every start.

Yeah, Sproat's not going to last long.

When Brandon is on the mound, it seems he starts every batter with a couple of balls, maybe they should start calling him Scrote.

I think Sproat is an awful lot like Peralta,  Always give up early inning runs, then get that high pitch count, and HOPE he gets through 5 innings.

Freddy gave up less runs.

I'm saying they are similar, not the same.
