When MLB average is 4.52 runs/game, it's generally considered pretty good to score 5.04 and allow 3.74.

Our regular season offense is fine.  Our offensive style in the playoffs is a huge problem and will continue to be until we can actually get guys who are built to succeed in the postseason.

Yeah I think the Brewers offense is very opportunistic which is why they have been able to outproduce their wRC+ in terms of offensive output. When a pitcher is struggling to throw strikes they can quickly pour on runs in a big inning but when a pitcher isn't giving up free passes they struggle.

Sugano is legit a really bad pitcher and he's dicing up our lineup.

Nice of the MLB to serve Yelich dead balls.

We used to have better and more interesting production with “put the ball in play”, scratch a few across the plate games to frustrate the opponent. We have been unlucky with hard hit balls of late and we strike out against pitchers who do not have overpowering stuff.

We are a NL Central contender/favorite not a playoff run team.

But, if you can go cold or unlucky at the same time, these hitters can get hot at the same time. I’m hopeful that happens!

Chourio doesn't have an extra base hit since July 9

Yep. I’d love to have Lockridge back as an option to get Chourio a day or three off to reset.

At least Drohan eats innings even when not pitching great.

I’m a huge Drohan fan. Even on days like today - when he is obviously not at his best - he is much more pleasant to watch than Sproat … or Peralta in previous seasons.

They really need Chourio to get going. It does seem as though he is just fighting himself at the plate. Maybe something is up.

Injury?

Yeah averaging 6 IP a start his last 5 starts with 4 of 5 going 6 innings. I'd like it a bit more if he wasn't averaging 3 runs against in that 5 start stretch but hard to complain about that from a back of the rotation starter.

What does that mean? Who of our players would we expect to have comparable stats to the regular season and which who would we expect to be better or worse?

I hope not, it seems like his body language has been different lately. Like he's frustrated or something, I was also wondering about the situation back in his home country. Who knows?
