While Made may end up as a "poor-man's" Jose Ramirez, they have remarkably similar profiles.

That’s the same comp I’ve said regarding Made.  I think he’s the future 3B.  That would put Fischer, Burke, and Adams into a version of what they currently have in Yelich, Bauers and Vaughn.

I don't know why people forget about him.  He is only 22 and has hit at every level with some power and can field both corner infield positions.

We could put Pena at 2nd base, do a L/R platoon at 1b which also gives us a 3b backup, but we're still left with an "extra" 1b/3b prospect and also Jett who they sure won't make play four different positions right away. Plus probably only keep one of the two OF prospects. 

I just don't see a situation where they wouldn't end up having to trade some prospects as well as many of the players they replace. No matter what one- or two-years-out roster you build there's always a few people who can't keep sitting in AAA.

But maybe if the Brewers have to add salary, it's an opportunity to trade for a valuable-but-expensive player as opposed to just an expensive one.

It’s fun to speculate on these things.  Unfortunately for Matt A, he'll have to actually make some decisions.  I guess what makes this more interesting, is the Joey O factor.  That wasn't a thing when I originally posted this.  What if we're seeing the "real" Joey O?  I'm not completely sold on it yet, but I'm getting closer.  So, if you've got a young 3rd baseman who hits .270+ with 12-ish HR, who's a wizard with the glove, does that make the haul you'd get for Made more attractive?  Two things to keep in mind:  1) Turang is gone after 2028.  That ship has sailed.  So, someone (Made, Pena, O'Rae, Williams) will need to fill that spot.  2) I believe Pratt's contract does not have a no-trade clause.  Trading him is unlikely, but possible. His contract might make him VERY attractive.  

I'm not in any way questioning Made's future.  I guess the point is, given the organizational depth the Brewers have, is the return on him worth more than what he'd bring to the team?  To put is in a weird way, is trading a "possibly great" player the right call when you have "possibly very good" players behind him?....and you get the benefit of the return?  With Turang probably gone in 2029, maybe it's all moot?  You'd also have to decide whether to extend Joey O...and THAT is a tough one.  

Good luck, Matt A!  That's why you get the big bucks!   This team should be competing for the foreseeable future.  Pitching depth is really the major question, as it always is.  Not just contract-wise, but as we've seen, arms can go at a moment's notice.  It would take a lot of "testicular tenacity" to make a move like this, but if the return was right?

Made didnt have numbers that blow you away this year, which keeps him from jumping a level early and now he will have a year at AAA to get better.  Timing works out well with Turang moving on or even getting traded if it makes sense. Pena basically has to repeat this year due to his health. 

But no, I doubt any GM is going to part with the potential ace(s) it would take pull Made from the Brewers and I dont see any GM willing to part with a prospect like Made which could be a career ender for some.

It looks to me that he just may have unlocked something that is sustainable, offensively. His value has skyrocketed all the way past cromulent so that he, himself, has a very real-world value for other clubs. Nearly every single club would benefit from his being on their roster, probably as a primary shortstop, excepting the teams that have a committed superstar playing there.

Or he's just hot, and that he'll never be more than a glove-only defensive utility player. But I think he will settle into this new identity as a non-black hole platinum-glove level defender.

But if they move him to make room for Made or someone else, I think with his being under team control for a couple more years makes him a really valuable asset, and could get a lot in return.
