Hitting instructors should be expected to work with players on fixing what is broken. I am assuming they have tried to get Yelich to change and he has refused. If so he should be released. Money be dammed don't compound the mistake by keeping him around and then playing him.

I thought Soriano getting scratched tonight and getting right to the Angels terrible pen was supposed to be this super awesome benefit for us.

Yeah there really isn't any reason to trade the farm for 2-3 months of Skubal. He could go 8 innings, 1 run and probably lose with this team in October.

I fear we do unload quality prospects, get Skubal, he’s helpful but once the playoffs arrive, we lose to LA 2-1 instead of 4-1 when Skubal pitches. We feel the impact in the next few seasons when we watch those prospects excel for Detroit rather than Milwaukee.

I don't think it's a question of Yelich not doing what a hitting coach is telling him. It's a matter of him not physically being able to do it.

We could be better off just playing the prospects. You could argue Fischer or Burke would be a better dh than the one they have.

If we have Skubal we have the best starter in 4 of 7 games at least.  They go 3 of 4 in Skubal / Miz games, and only need 1 of the other 3. The Dodgers lose all the time, 42 games so far.  There is no reason with the best 2 starting pitchers they cant win 4 of 7.  I wouldn't make them the favorites necessarily.  But there's a decent chance.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Dodgers are “making progress” on a trade for Tarik Skubal.

Heyman notes that the talks are centered on Zyhir Hope and Emmet Sheehan. It’s worth noting that Hope was scratched from Saturday’s game for Double-A Tulsa, so that’s probably not coincidental. Heyman does caution that the trade isn’t done yet, but Skubal is almost assuredly going to be dealt over the weekend, and there aren’t many teams that can match what the Dodgers have in their farm system. At this point, it seems more likely than not that Skubal plays for the Dodgers in 2026.
