I think his advanced stats are well above average and almost elite. I will take a look.

He's had more than a good year in left. Statistically, he's been the best LFer in the NL and a front runner for a Gold Glove.

I don’t follow and don’t really put complete trust in defensive numbers.

But, it was never me that said he should be a DH only. I remember getting into an exchange where I strongly disagreed with whoever said it.

 I think that came up because of the problems he often has timing his jumps at the wall on potential HR steals. 

I am influenced by a spectacular HR stealing catch he made in a game we were at against the Twins last year.

They talked about it in the 8th inning.  Said today was really decreasing the magic number by 3 since we could win, cubs would lose, and we’d win the tiebreaker

To be fair, Murphy made great pitching choices today:  he went to Chad Patrick instead of letting Gasser finish the 5th, then he went with Ashby and Uribe when we were still down 2-1.

Ok, good, Im not crazy.  The comment about, "not just a DH" threw me off.  Maybe that was sarcasm.

Chourio had the huge hit, but that bottom of the 8th was about so much more. Ortiz with a magnificent AB, beginning to end. Yelich, clean out of nowhere, suddenly executes some terrific takes to get to 3-1. And Bauers goes from 0-2 to a walk, setting up the sac fly. Memo to Lara.....when an opposing pitcher is hanging himself, DO NOT cut the noose for him. I'm sure he'll learn. 

Two short ones for Gasser, but both looked promising.

I think Lara is benefitting from a lot of reps. He's made some circus catches w/o necessarily taking great routes or being fundamentally sound. But the one in the 9th was textbook. Serious talent, he & Pratt both.

Lara & Ortiz getting a lions' share of PT from here on out is a no-brainer. Still I can't wait until the first game one of them isn't in the lineup. I'll know because I'll see smoke coming from my device😄. But yeah, they've earned it.

Actually it was tied when Ashby came in but yeah, he made the right moves. Not much by way of options AFA Patrick in the middle innings (Sproat?), but he went to him instead of hoping for Gasser to get the 3rd out.

I don't think he normally would've gone to Uribe down one, but he was sort of out of options today after the last two games in Cincinnati. Fortunately Uribe only had one very short outing in the last 4-5 days.

It was. It was a reference to something that somebody said quite awhile ago, I think when Chourio jammed his glove into the wall trying to time a potential steal of a HR.
