Could someone please verify the stat below?  "If the stat 37 runners left on base vs San Diego" is true?  I think Pat Murphy really needs to quickly rethink his lineups if it is true.

"The Brewers have left 37 runners on base through the four games vs San Diego, they've also scored no more than four runs in any of the four games."

9, 7, 11, 10 = 37

Murphy changed the lineup for each of the four games in the series.

Why? It worked. They didn’t get timely hits, but that’s just bad luck more than anything.

Just thought 37 left on base was a lot when only averaging 3 runs per game.

I doubt it works vs the LA Dodgers.

I don't have the stats to back it up but it seemed like a good chunk of those LOB were guys on 1st base with 2 outs etc. There were a couple situations where we loaded them up and did nothing or stranded a leadoff guy on 2nd, but it generally felt like they weren't high-percentage scenarios. I just felt watching the games that I was not really expecting us to get them across most of the time.

What exactly is your recommendation? Outside of moving Turang down the order? But even then, you’d be moving him down in the order in favor of guys much of this board were begging us to bench before they did most of the work in Game 4. We moved Jake Bauers down in the line up and he proceeded to get on base 4 times. Imagine had we just not messed with the line up and kept him in the #2 spot.

Moving guys around in frustration because of runners left on base is like trying to time the stock market.

The Brewers had the second to most LOB in all of MLB in 2026. They averaged 7.54 per game. So we could have expected 30 in a four-game series. Of course scoring more runs is better. But again, that is how the Brewers operate. Get on base, try to make something happen.

My point was to maybe have less shuffeling.  Last 4 games was like they were drawen out of a hat they were so completely dirrerent. Unless that's his stratagy.

Part of that is good pitching by San Diego.  Brewer pen outpitched the much talked about Padre pen.

Going to be a bit different dynamic against the Dodgers.  Expect excellent starting pitching 7+/- innings a game.  Probably will have to win 2-1, 3-2 kind of games to advance.  Hard to see how we advance if we give up 3+ runs in four different games.

Starting pitching for the Crew for the NLCS?

I've got:

Miz Game 1 &5

Henderson Game 2 & 6

Gasser Game 3 & 7

Drohan/May/Harrison Game 4

If they are down to elimination game then all hands on deck.

I feel better about this lineup than what he had last year.

Seems to me that having a lot of baserunners is a good thing. Isn't it? Statistically some of those runners are eventually going to score runs.

It puts more pressure on the opposing pitchers thats for sure.

Lengthen the ABs create traffic is definitely the way to go against the Dodgers. Force the manager to ride those starters longer than they are used to or turn it over to the pen sooner. I expect more late game action again.

I'd bet they'd be at the top of the statcast leaderboards, too. Gosh did they hit the ball hard in this series. Their BB%/K% has been stupendous (10.4%/16.9) considering the arms they've had to deal with.

Believe they flashed a graphic on MLB network yesterday that to this point these playoffs have had the lowest run scoring environment since 1990.

The Brewers 95 wRC+ is the best in the field so far. Tampa Bay just hit for a 65 wRC+ (9th) over their three games and swept out the Yankees anyway. Even with 8 HR and a .188 ISO that are both best in the field the Dodgers have hit for a 79 wRC+ (5th) on account of a .203 AVG (7th) and .264 OBP (8th).

Also, Brewers bullpen in the playoffs so far...0.47 ERA (1st) and +0.94 WPA (1st).

Yup...

.339 xwOBA (t-1st with LAD)
.311 actual wOBA (1st)
45.9 HardHit% (1st)
107.2 EV90 (1st)
91.1 EV (3rd)
.266 xAVG (2nd)
.414 xSLG (3rd)

Oh yeah, one more...8.2 Launch Angle (12th)

& here's one more fun one, the Cubs had zero barrels in 43 batted balls in their two playoff games this year.

Ah, just pulled them from the FanGraphs leaderboard. Says they are over 154 PA which was our total for the four games?

They did that against one of the better pitching staffs in baseball.

Statcast numbers have been delayed all postseason. The non-statcast numbers are all accurate.

Here are the statcast numbers through 4 games courtesy of baseball savant.

.260 xBA (1st)

.387 xSLG (4th)

.327 xwOBA (3rd)

91.3 Avg EV (3rd)

46.7% Hard Hit (1st)

And a whole lot of hard hit balls at defenders and some insane defense. Honestly, I’d be thrilled if the Brewers offense did everything the same in the NLCS. I think that performance would score a lot of runs.

Now our defense? Pretty rough looking way too often. That’s gotta get cleaned up.
