Yamamoto was the guy I was most afraid of. I still can't believe the Crew brute forced him out of the game. Incredible.

We haven't won anything yet. I'm still in "I'll believe it when I see it" mode.

But this is an unknown feeling we are currently in. If we lose this it will be our fault, not because we are inferior. We have had teams in the recent past that I thought had a chance. I've never felt entirely confident we were the team driving the whole bus.

We are driving the bus right now. Just keep the thing on the tracks.

Not to get ahead of myself but if we win one of next two and go to game five I would save Miz since he’s notoriously struggles with road pitching mounds.

but way ahead of myself.   Let’s just win next two

I’m sure it’s been said other places on this thread but there are 41 pages so I’ll say it again:

It was thought that winning Games 1 and 2 were huge for this series because our 2 ace pitchers were starting those games. Neither of them pitched too poorly, but I also think it’s reasonable to say we won in spite of them (especially Henderson with the clear heebie jeebies on defense out there). Our bullpen was OUTSTANDING today… including May, who probably needed a bit of confidence.

Lets next meet at Am Fam Field next Wednesday.

July 7, 2025…. Same pitcher didn’t finish the 1st inning.! That isn’t mentioned much.

Within the mantra of 'unrelenting', Bauers might've had the most unrelenting AB of the year. And he does it vs Yamamoto. Just magnificent. Slowly breaking Skubal up yesterday, and getting Yamamoto into the 70s in pitch count by the 3rd inning is an absolute thing of beauty.

Another master stroke going with Hamilton today. I didn't see that coming.

There's a chance we someday regret giving up the talent we traded to STL, but if nothing else we can point to what May & Romero did today. We've all seen things unravel vs LA, especially when you give them extra outs. May was an unsung hero in this one.

The 9th was interesting. In his presser Murphy said there was some difference of opinion as to how to handle it. Personally I was a fan of leaving Ashby in for Ohtani & then going to Megill. Then, If it wasn't a 3-run cushion I wonder if Megill comes in the moment Muncy is called back. At the end of the day it's nice to have the rubberband southpaw arm, especially vs this team.

What Yelich is doing is heartwarming. he's taken a lot of **** this year, much of it from me.

Often Murphy says things like "I think we can play a lot better". No doubt; we were generous in the earlier innings. Let's clean it up, get Henderson to put the generosity behind him, and finish this thing.

I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of the Dodgers yet, but we have some breathing room to take a punch or two.

They're still the Dodgers... but I feel REALLY good about our bats now. Plus, with a day of rest, other than Ashby, the Pen should be absolutely fine.

I was a little befuddled by that, but as long as Megill is fine, I don't care!

It worked!

Great to see the offense come alive, knocking out Yamamoto early and tacking on runs against the bullpen. Almost everyone contributed and having hot Contreras and Turang would be huge.

My approach to this is to savor the 2-0 lead for 2 days and then worry about playing in LA.

Teams coming back from 2-0 deficits to win 7 game series is common enough that there’s no point in counting chicken eggs. The Dodgers certainly have the horses to turn things around, but the Brewers are playing with confidence, even while they make uncharacteristic mistakes.

So you were not around in '82?

I can't imagine any sports loss ever being that painful, EVER!

I was a senior in high school, and it still makes me want to cry.  SCREW ST. LOUIS FOREVER!

I graduated H.S. in 1982 and was in first semester of college that fall.

That series loss was so painful, I took up chain smoking for a week straight as some type of self-punishing coping mechanism.  I had never smoked before that time and have never smoked again since that one week.

Brewers, don't make me start again!  Lol

If I'm the Brewers I start him Game 4 if the series is 2-1. Try to slam that door shut while giving him the extra day to rest for Game 7 if he's needed. If it's 3-0 don't need to start him at all until Game 6. But I don't think you can save him for Milwaukee unless it's 3-0, you need to maximize his appearances.

Ashby threw 21 pitches today. Yesterday he threw 2 innings but only 15 pitches. I wouldn't predict he'll throw Wednesday, but after a day off I'm not 100% sure he won't.

I didn't mean he'd be unavailable... just, they really haven't pushed the pen to any unreasonable limits OTHER than maybe Ashby.

My concern is Glasnow and Scnell vs Gasser and a bullpen start,  Scales tip heavily in the Dodgers direction for those two starts.  However, Gasser has been superb, if he can stay the course, we are probably in decent shape.

Winning one of the next two games is absolutely gigantic!

I think the broadcast hypothesized (and I don't hate the thought process) that because Ashby had already gone back to back via tonight he was probably down Wed as it is .. so because the 8th was clean and quick and we had a cushion, if you can squeeze the 9th out of him they don't get to see Megill again AND we save him an inning (both of which are factors). So my assumption was if we were up 1 it was either Ashby for Ohtani and then Megill OR since we were up 3, we were going to run Ashby until he showed any sign of distress. Possibly a dice roll but a calculated one and it worked.

Yep, they're tough, just like Skubal and Yamamoto.

I like our chances if we keep scoring 7 runs, but after so many tight games the back and forth tonight was as epic as all the Rocky GIFs imply

They did the late inning bullpen decisions exactly how I was texting I'd do it to my friends.  Uribe to start since it was RH Betts.  Then Ashby for lefty Ohtani, with the plan that he's going through Muncy since that innings had 2/3 lefties. Then he's out of if its not over by then.  All executed and didn't walk anyone so it went as smoothly as possible.

I don't think the TV guys guess that Ashby is down for game 3 is correct at all. Based on what they've done all year I'd be very surprised if he's not available for a normal 15-25ish pitches (assuming nothing weird soreness tomorrow).  Game 4 then I could see the argument, but based on how he's been used with the off day and no crazy high pitch count game I don't see him being down for game 3. ETA, that said, I trust Hall basically as much right now
