Ben Williamson hitting 5th for the Rays is a choice that an outsider like me has a tough time understanding. I imagine they expect to pinch-hit early, so maybe it doesn't matter.

On our side, I still think Yelich third isn't great. Just go with Contreras there even if it gives you three lefties in a row. Or hit Turang there. Yelich is better out of the top 4.

I hope I'm right on the first one and forced to eat my words on the second.

my takeaway so far this series is that its hopeless for me to ever figure out what a balk is and its equally hopeless to ever figure out what a check-swing is

I want to brewlieve, but I have a hard time picturing 15,000 brewers fans making it.  That would be insane if true

Sales on StubHub (via Milwaukee JS):

  • Game 3 (Oct. 26): 21% of tickets were purchased from Wisconsin ZIP codes.
  • Game 4 (Oct. 27): 28% of tickets were purchased from Wisconsin ZIP codes.
  • Game 5 (Oct. 28): 25% of tickets were purchased from Wisconsin ZIP codes.

Compared to Tampa zip codes accounted for 2 and 3% for Games 1 and 2 in Milwaukee.

I’m here.  It’s true.  Brewers fans are EVERYWHERE.  We are dominating Clearwater beach as well.

raised in both MKE and S Fl. There are a lot of reasons to think 50/50 and the 25-30% WI addresses is only part of it. So many Wisconsin snowbirds in exactly that part of the state. Brewer fans with money who no longer have to pay Wisconsin taxes.  First WS in 44 years, real fan support. better team.

Given Tampa's lineup choices, I wonder if maybe Drohan gets a shot at some point to try and delay Aranda's entry. I know he's been low on the depth chart, but they trusted him enough to start and pitch into the 2nd in LA.

I have to believe that about half of FL residents were not born there... Obviously a big Cuban population, but the snowbirds too.

This is thought-provoking, actually.

n the regular season, Vilade was .818 OPS vs, lefties and Aranda .837 vs. righties. Their HRs/AB are very similar, too. Where there may be a difference is defensively, but I don't know there, either - Vilade is usually an outfielder, and Aranda is not great, as we've seen. Ergo, it doesn't seem like worrying about who's at first should factor into pitching decisions, at least not early in the game.

The other thought here is about who's in what role out in the bullpen tonight. We are pretty sure it's bullpen tomorrow, so holding back some long guys would be advisable,

the Cubans are in the miami area.. true local Floridians continue to recede northward past Orlando. Northeast snowbirds moved to the east side (Palm Beach) and the midwesterners go to west side (Tampa/Naples). At least thats how it used to go.

Yeah, I really do like his fit vs. every Tampa hitter except for Caminero and Diaz. lol

We were discussing this in another thread, but their batting order makes no sense to me. I would have loaded those two up near the top of the order instead of breaking them up with Simpson.
