You can trade anyone but it will certainly come at a cost if it's Frelick. I think inside, they know if it's worth it or not. The team will be different and some of that will hurt. People kind of felt like that about Durbin, he embodied Brewer mentality.

I have seen a lot of "sign William!" sentiment as well. I don't think there's a world where the Brewers can do that though. I think you sit on him for another year, but you have to let him go beyond that. Someone's going to pay him a ton for a lot of years and it shouldn't be us.

But all this stuff can wait a week.

I think they actually could afford William. The catcher market isn’t crazy relative to other positions.

It's not that I don't think they can afford him, it's that I think they'll be paying him a lot to decline.

Bauers said to Murphy after that comment: “You’re not getting rid of me that easy”

IMO the parade version of the merch is substantially better than the on-field stuff from last night. I won't shame anyone for wanting that shirt but it is ugly, lol.

Once I saw it was a double sided shirt with massive graphics I was like “Yikes”

Hard pass for me lol

I remember Bill Simmons writing in his book "Now I can die happy" something about how mentally and physically exhausting being a fan was during that title run and it never made sense to me. Why winning would be tiring.

I get it now.

I'm tired. Thrilled. Nostalgic. A hint of sadness that it's all over. I'm going to miss this team. But that playoff run more or less had my stomach in knots for 3 straight weeks. At some point during the Dodgers series everything went from "we could do this" to "we HAVE to do this" and my stomach clenched. It finally eased last night.

Proud of them. Proud of us. Proud of you. Wish Bob was here. Congrats friends.

Yes. It's a strange feeling that there's no more baseball for a while. Spring training in about three months, though!

I hope he stays with the team.

Me too, but real talk, he should take the money if someone gives it to him.

Correct. It's not like Bauers and Vaughn are irreplaceable. It will be interesting to see how Arnold addresses first base for next season.

That Matt Arnold, wily like a fox: trading for Dustin may knowing that having that guy pretty much guarantees you win the World Series as evidenced by May’s now fourth World Series ring this decade.

I always envisioned it being that way, but to me this wasn't. They made it look mostly easy. I had the doom feeling a couple times in the NLDS but after that they didn't make me sweat much. So this was not the way I envisioned it going down.

In hindsight, I'm glad they lost Game 4. It gave me the anxiety I needed to experience, put the fear back in my heart that they could still lose.

Also i wanted to say something snarky about the rays but i just can’t.   They’ve been gracious in defeat.   The players and manager.   I will keep it to myself

How they work in Fischer and made in the near future is going to be interesting

This will be my greatest memory of the 2026 playoff run

I was at game two against the Padres with our youngest daughter who was in town from Florida to run the lakefront half marathon.

She pulled out her phone and took this quick video moments after the winning run crossed the plate. This and the look on her face and the reactions of the people around us are priceless
