Lame-ass ESPN already manufacturing that "Murphy ripped the Yankees" as if that line wasn't a boilerplate insert-big-market-here joke between coach and player. If anything it's a joke at Bauers's expense more than New York's.

Gives the talking heads something to banter about because the game and series itself were pretty anticlimactic as a whole. We kicked their butts.

That quote is close to an all-timer for me but it sounds like Murph says stuff like that all the time e.g. telling Sal that he won a gold glove for reckless diving and crashing into walls.

Yeah, this one hits way differently. You grow up being told about Titletown etc., so it's always fun when the Packers have a run, but you are raised to expect them to win. The Bucks are a hyperlocal team, their run was great but they also had sustained success earlier on and a championship.

The Brewers, it has always been kind of accepted they aren't going to win anything. It's tailgating, socializing, enjoying summer, and maybe once in a while a winning team, but it just never had that expectation that you were there because you thought they might win it. Part of the buy-in for their fandom always felt like acceptance you'd never see this.

The Yankees also happen to be the team that traded Bauers to the Brewers:

November 17, 2023: Traded by the New York Yankees to the Milwaukee Brewers for Jace Avina (minors) and Brian Sanchez (minors).

I’m a huge a historical baseball buff.    Once you really get out of the moment and look back at this team they are definitely one of the best teams this century and an all time great imo

I think the only reason they won’t get their due is because they don’t have the “star name power” of individuals

Yeah... but... in 5-6 years, the names "Chourio, Misiorowski, Pratt, Uribe, Henderson, Turang," they may carry a bit more weight!

That came up as a push notification on my phone.

What a horse crap, manufactured, out of context “headline”.

LOL... I mean, it's not at ALL hard to see why Yankees fans would be upset!

It's funny as hell and I don't care, but...

Then he added, referring to the possibility of Bauers signing with the Yankees:

"Just remember when you're on that ********* Yankees team and you're all playing for yourselves, just remember this is the way we used to do it."

He's saying the Yankees are a selfish team playing for their own contracts or money or... whatever! I don't think Murph cares, but it was clearly a shot at the Yankees and... so what! We're the Brewers, we don't care what the big market think anymore!

By the time Jesus Makes another Jesus Made(so Jesus Made Jr)... the way I figure it, we're going to be closing in on their World Series total!

He doesn’t really care. He’s had nothing but complimentary things to say about the Dodgers last year. It was clearly just intended to be an inside joke moment between Murphy and Bauers.

I don’t think Murphy really cares one way or another how anyone else chooses to conduct business.

Nope! Not at all.

I think it's funny! He also probably picked the ONE team that would not sign Bauers under almost any circumstance beyond trading Rice and Stanton, but... I see why it's News, the WS Manager, 3X manager of the year said the Yankees play for themselves... and you have to write about something, but you're absolutely right.

Offended NY? Oh well! Should have beaten the Rays!

Yes sir!  I live 10 minutes from there.   Going to go broke with merch and buying baseball cards from Topps

Same here.  I'm in Neenah, so 10 min for me too.

It's nice having that stadium close by.

My best friend lives in West Allis, so he's naturally 10 minutes from Am Fam, so it's nice seeing a game with him.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.

Throughout the entire season I just always felt that if they could just make it to the Dodgers again anything could happen. Then they just steamrolled them and the Rays. The Crew was just legitimately better than all the teams. No luck, no what iffs, they were just better. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

For us "out of market" folks, are they going to stream the parade somewhere?

I'm sure one of the local affiliates will broadcast live.  One could catch its stream.  WTMJ-TV covered the parade after SB 31.

Absolutely nothing surprised me about this run except for that sweep. I thought maybe we could take out the Dodgers in a hard-fought 6 or 7 game series with some fortunate bounces going our way.

But a sweep where we absolutely tore apart Yamamoto, Snell, and Glasnow? No way man. What a team.

This is a great feeling, got some World Series gear at Dick's last night with my kids as I couldn't sleep anyways. This team will be talked about forever and the Brewers will have giveaways revolving around this team until the end of time and I will never get sick of it.
