This is interesting

According to McCullough, Detroit wanted a top hitting prospect and a controllable young starting pitcher, but Milwaukee was unwilling to part with rookie left-hander Logan Henderson. Instead, the Brewers offered three position-player prospects: infielder Luis Peña, utility player Jett Williams and outfielder Josh Adamczewski. Peña was No. 27 on Keith Law’s January 2026 list of top 100 MLB prospects and Williams was No. 45.

Detroit accepted the offer that afternoon.

Thank GOD we didn't do it!  Thank almighty Jesus we didn't give into their wishes!

We won it all anyway, and that's the name of that tune!

Yeah... but... in 5-6 years, the names "Chourio, Misiorowski, Pratt, Uribe, Henderson, Turang," they may carry a bit more weight!

Specially if they win a couple more.

Does Yelich get his number retired?

Someone (don't remember if it was Attanasio or someone else) referenced the fact that "they need to do something for him," but it wouldn't be a jersey number because they've only done that for HOFers.

I think so. Someone said it last night afterwards that 22 will never be worn in Milwaukee again once the Bucks handle Middleton and the Brewers take care of Yeli.

LOL... I mean, it's not at ALL hard to see why Yankees fans would be upset!

It's funny as hell and I don't care, but...

He's saying the Yankees are a selfish team playing for their own contracts or money or... whatever! I don't think Murph cares, but it was clearly a shot at the Yankees and... so what! We're the Brewers, we don't care what the big market think anymore!

By the time Jesus Makes another Jesus Made(so Jesus Made Jr)... the way I figure it, we're going to be closing in on their World Series total!

If people actually read the ESPN article, it has the full quote with a key distinction that's being missed here:

"You're going to be a rich f---er," Murphy told Bauers, who is scheduled to become a free agent this offseason. "Just remember when you were on that horses--- Yankees team and you guys were all playing for yourself? Just remember, say, 'This is the way we used to do it.'"

It goes on to note that a number of other players have criticized that same team. This wasn't referencing Bauers going to the Yankees in the future.

I wish he could have a late career resurgence and find another 10 WAR to make the HOF case interesting. Maybe if we win another championship. The injuries and COVID hit at the wrong time.

I know I posted this before, in another thread, and it is crappy AI nonsense, but I just have to put it here, in the freaking World Champions thread!

Just finished reading through this entire thread...

This forum man, this forum provides so much sanity throughout the season.  It's hard to believe a place where you don't know anyone becomes important in your daily routine.

I'm a mega fan, and I don't know a lot of people that take it to that level personally, so this place provides a haven for guys like me and most of you!

There are disagreements all season long, and sometimes I want to smack someone in the face, but in the end, this is the place to be when it comes to the Brewers!

Thanks to everyone, even the gatekeepers!  :)

WE ARE.........................................WORLD FREAKING CHAMPIONS!

With that said, I agree that Sal was a higr part of this and I don’t know that I’d trade him in the offseason as I’ve suggested in the path. They did sign Lara and he is part of this team’s future. But for 2027, why not have both

This is one of the classic pitfalls of WS champs. Overvaluing current players or feeling a debt to them for their contribution. Its a mindset the org ended in order to compete for a championship and its the sad part of this business that you have to choose between player loyalty and championships.

Its not a question of downgrading to a Perkins, its a question of upgrading to a Payne for a lot cheaper, and being able to acquire more talented prospects.

They have 5 talented OF who are ready to fill 2 positions. Frelick, Mitchell, Lara, Adamczewski, Payne.

I like that there are twin players on the team and everyone has the same beard. :)

Looking at the highlights reels.  There were so many huge moments throughout the playoff run it’s hard to pick a favorite but Chourios walkoff vs Miller and Bauers winning the long AB with a bomb are probably  It for me.  My God what a run.

I'm not part of admin nor do I pretend to know how to run a site, but could we maybe pin this thread until at least opening day next season (whenever that actually is)? @Brock Beauchamp

Let's see how far she can go!

Totally up to all of you. I had no intentions of moving it any time soon, so it'll be here for awhile and I'll ask first should I think about moving it.

And I didn't even mention Harrison, which leads me.... Are we done with him? I dont get how or why he didnt pitch in the playoffs at all.

with the increased load, Miz and Harrison both struggled as their inning count broke new territory. Definitely fatigue led to loss of form led to them being easier to hit. Harrison had a pretty sharp decline around the ASB and didnt earn back the confidence of staff from there. He will be a key piece of this team going forward

Bauers was the MVP of the NCLS.

Wild Bill was the MVP of the World Series.

But I think the unawarded MVP for the entire playoffs is Aaron Ashby. His 18 consecutive scoreless innings is historic and will likely be unmatched for a very long time.
