Will be receiving playoff ticket invoices soon

Found out that season ticket holders will be receiving invoices for playoff tickets any day now.

As a long time season ticket holder, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I am not planning on sending a check in for playoff tickets. I don't see the playoffs for this team, and I don't want the Brewers to sit on my dollars (I'm assuming the price per seat will be more than regular season). I'm not sure this is my wisest decision, but it's how I feel.

How about other season tickets holders here; what are you going to do?

I'm going to buy as many tickets as the Brewers will allow me to. The last time the Brewers were in the playoffs I was 6. Can't let the chance go by.

Now the Brewers need to hold up their end.

I cringed when I heard that during the game. The way this team is going lately, this could be the joke of baseball if we finish below .500.

I would assume that any money spent on unused playoff tickets will be either refundable (maybe not completely) or put towards next season's seat holder plan. I guess we'll find out when we get the brochures. You guys in Wisconsin will get them about 3-4 days before I do.

I guess it's about the time for that - even though it currently feels like something of a cruel joke.

When we reserve tickets for the Badger volleyball team's NCAA tournament games, they hold our credit card information and only apply a charge if the Badgers advance and host the first round. Without having heard what you guys heard tonight, I'd guess the Brewers would do something similar. Worst-case scenario is they'd charge us now and refund if the Brewers continue to falter and don't advance.

I guess now we'll get an idea of which season seat holders are eligible for which post-season rounds.

Was anyone else here season-seat-holding in 1997, when the Brewers were apparently "in it" enough to warrant the printing of playoff strips? The Brewers sent us a strip after the season ended. I still have it somewhere.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Just to note that for anyone with questions about actually procuring tickets, there are a ton of answers in this thread:

Playoff Tickets

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I assume they would apply towards next year's tickets. But, I'm really not feeling all that inclined at the moment to renew my tickets next season either. I've just added up quickly how much I've spent on tickets since 1996 (full season x 4 tickets plus parking) and tried to compare that to the enjoyment it's brought me...ugh, not a good return on investment.

Yeah, I've still got those too. Not sure why.

The timing for these mailings could not have been worse. I'm sure I'll get mine in the mail when I get home from work tomorrow after the Cards have finished us off.

I remember my dad and I had Brewers playoff tickets in 1992. We returned them and got our money back. We asked if we could keep one of the tickets just for the heck of it and they said if we did that, they couldn't refund our money.

Of course you will be able to get a refund (are people really questioning this?). You will probably have an option of a refund or a credit. The only thing I can see is that they may withhold some sort of service fee.

Supposedly, only about half the Cubs' fans returned their WS strips a few years ago, when they lost in the playoffs, meaning the Cubs kept an incredible amount of money.

I can understand how you fell, but how long have we been waiting for this, and if they do make the playoffs and do well you will hate yourself for not getting them and also think about how we may have playoffs team for the next couple of years, yeah i know what you are thinking that we have heard that before.

My too. I keep them in my "broken promises" collection along with my 1992 playoff tickets, my 1988 playoff tickets and my 1983 playoff tickets. For a guy who's never seen a postseason game in person I seem to have a lot of tickets....

Oh, yeah, I would definitely be mad at myself. I'm in no way saying this is a rational or logical decision...I should just get the tickets and then return them when/if they don't make the playoffs. That's the correct and mature way to proceed. But one of the things I love about being a sports fan: it's the one area of my life where I can make incredibly stupid choices, rant with a lack of knowledge or without all the facts, whine, etc.

Speaking of irrational, I also have this feeling that if I don't get the playoff tickets, the Brewers will, of course, proceed to make the playoffs. As if my actions somehow control their destiny. But, I'm willing to take one for the team.

This is the best Brewers team I have ever seen in my life and they have the best chance of making the playoffs. Get the playoff tickets!

I want to pre-order mine but if they apply the money I spent on them to tickets next year, I can't. I won't even live in the central time zone by next season so season tickets are a little out of the question.

What kind of racket is that, applying the money to future tickets? Who ever said I wanted to buy tickets for the future.

I'm sure they will not make you do that. You will be able to get a refund if they don't make it.

How about the 2002 All-Star Exhibition ticket that for some reason says GAME on it?

I'll be laying my money down. I started getting tickets in 01 just to go to opening day. I kept them in 02 for the All-Star Sham. I still have them just so I can go to a postseason. I will be pay my money, even if I don't think they'll make it.

That is correct, everything is refundable, although you may choose to apply it to next year if you wish.

Well, the postseason invoice arrived today.

And, hey, what a deal, Only $5,200 for my four tickets and parking (or more than half of the full season cost) assuming 11 games, including a One-Game Tiebreaker for the division.

I have until September 7th to decide. I think I've already decided...but let's see what happens.
