I've been pushing stuck cars in my circle all day.

I live in Shorewood and I just got done shoveling for the second time. My wife took a few pics. I'll upload them after I go out and shovel in another hour or so. Whoo hoo!

I've had to clear off the satellite dish 3 times now, re-shoveling a foot path each time. This may be the first time I regret not having cable. Of course, I could be doing something productive...

I'm sort of jealous about the whole thing.

Me too. The wind chill is 10 in La Crosse and we've gotten no snow. I don't necessarily love snow, but if it's going to be really cold, it might as well snow.

Just finished plowing the driveway... We've done it three times since this morning. The snow plow got jammed on me this last time.

I can't wait till summer. Id rather be hot in sweating in 95 degree heat then be snowed in and not feel like going outside and drive on dangerous roads. Ah well, only about two more months of this crap and spring is on the way.

I ducked out today and walked to the corner to buy beer (gotta keep up with the essentials). This was at about 330 when it was really coming down outside. Two dudes are trying to unstick a lady in a car who just pulled onto our street. I joined in and after a couple of jolts, the 3 of us got her going.

All the while, this other lady was waiting to turn on to our street and was waving and making "c'mon!" and "I can't believe this" motions. She looked peeved. As soon as she turned onto the street, she got stuck.

We should have left her, but she got a push too. Settle down folks.

After I snow blew for the third time, I walked a few blocks to the grocery store. I bought the necessities for Beer Brats on the grill.

I got home, lit the grill, snow blowed for the -fourth- time, threw the brats on the grill after they were par boiled in Miller High Life and onions

and grilled them quite nicely. A few people were out shoveling and looking at me grilling. they must have gotten hungry. Dinner was good.

Pics to follow of our snow day in a little while. Mary needs the computer to study.

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

Ok, now that Old Man Winter has dealt those of us in southeastern Wisconsin a serious knockout blow, please tell me that we are done with significant snow for a little while. OWBC - I am speaking in your direction. The forecast for the greater Milwaukee metroplex on noaa.gov indicates that there is snow likely for Friday night but makes no commentary as to how much we can expect. Any insight?

Oh yea, agreed 100%. When it's that cold and you miss out on a snowstorm like this, it sucks (imo).

How was the thundersnow for those who experienced it? And thank you so much to all for the pics (and for those yet to come!) - incredible visuals!

Probably only 1-3 inches on Friday night. However, I regret to say that arctic air will get pulled down behind that system...but only for Sunday and Monday.

However, the scary part is that the 8-14 day outlook is still predicting below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. You all know what that means...

ok I'm getting tired of snow. Ready for the ugly grey and black spotted snow banks and wet.

Whens the normal snow pack melt these days?

definitely the heaviest snow we have had since we moved into our house in bay view.

i remember some doozies growing up in stallis, but this one was rough.

i love snowblowers. went out at 8am and again at 6pm. probably one quick pass tomorrow morning and it should be allright.

I usually go to the neighborhood bar on Wednesday nights (because people somehow love playing darts every Wednesday night and that is up my alley) but given the weather, I doubt it is going to be packed, so I walked to the liquor store and bought a six pack of MGD and within three blocks, it seemed like a total disaster area. I saw one tree totally suffering because the snow weighted down the branches so much all of the branches were touching the ground. Then I saw a car stuck on the street and needed to be pushed by 2 guys and while another guy pulled it with his pickup truck and chains.

On my walk back home, I couldn't bare walking on the sidewalks because the snow was middle-thigh deep on me (and I am 6'4" with long legs) so I walked on the street. A few cars got stuck trying to leave their driveways and EVERYONE in my neighborhood had a shovel. It felt like I was in the movie, "They Day After Tomorrow," with Jake Gyllenhaal and Dennis Quaid.

I had to change my clothes three times today because I got soaked every single time.

The banks on each side of my driveway are well over my head for the entire length of my driveway. I'm going to go ahead and say it's 7' high, 50 foot long, and probably 4-5' wide on each side of the driveway after I spent most of the day shoveling and reshoveling. I'd love to put pics, but my camera battery is dead and going out and getting a battery isn't a priority at the moment.

City of Janesville schools are already canceled for tomorrow.

Our driveway bank has been flirting with my height since maybe the second big storm in December. Tonight, it's finally and undoubtedly taller than I am. It's only on one side, though, because we share a driveway apron with our neighbor.

Said next-door neighbor is in Florida this week with his wife. I might be tempted to scowl, but whoever he asked to snowblow his driveway and sidewalk did ours too, without our even realizing it till we wondered, what's that noise? (it was snow hitting the house).

When I rolled out the recycling bin tonight, I was struck by the utter stillness outside. We live in a pretty low-traffic neighborhood to begin with, but there was absolutely no vehicle noise - just the scraping noises from two shovelers. It was beautiful, in a way.

I hear ya Hawing. I was out for a while not too long ago trying to finish up, and for a long while, that "white noise" was the only thing I could hear. And emergency service sirens, of course.

We've been told non-essential travel is highly discouraged right now.

I decided to head out to college library tonight. It's the only library open and is usually crowded, but tonight is nearly abandoned. There were virtually no cars out and for good reason, the plowing exposed the ice underneath the snow, which caused me to wipe out in the middle of University Ave. It's really a strange feeling. I will try and take some pictures tomorrow since I doubt the campus will ever look like this again in the time that I am here.
