  1. Nice win... and great singing during the medal presentation 😉
  2. The more active teams like Indiana and San Antonio (gasp) have figured out the Bucks. I have a feeling it boils down to Brook Lopez. If Lopez is matched up against an athletic C or PF, he is too slow to recover. Also, his vertical leaping ability is not good and I can't remember the last time he went up with two hands to grab a rebound. Lopez's defensive strength, if it still exists, requires him to be closer to the basket. He gets pulled out and is ineffective. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  3. The main thing that has changed from last year to this year is having a player (or maybe more than one) that can drive to the hoop and draw contact. Storr is that guy much the same way Johnny Davis was that guy. I was a little nervous last night when they started bricking their free throws towards the end. When the announcers are lauding one of the forwards for having hitting 60% of the free throws (Wahl), I have to shake my head. 70% for him, ok. 60%? Not so much.
  4. Once this is implemented, will batters who disagree with "the computer" start yelling at the clouds?
  5. Got to go see the Badgers vs. Air Force. Sat in the 7th row just to the left of the home penalty box. I have sat in similar seats at the Kohl Center and I actually liked the seats at the Fiserv Forum better. Should be a good game tonight vs. Northeastern.
  6. TBH: I have not followed the situation as closely recently. I wonder if MLF was using ARod as a conduit until this year -- perhaps his only conduit. He doesn't have that crutch anymore and he might not be able to handle it. Joe Barry needs to go... period. Maybe Jim Leonhard's name gets brought back up again? In regards to the structure of the organization -- Murphy did spend many years as the AD at Northwestern. Not necessarily the best feather in the cap. 😉
  7. Thanks for the clarification.
  8. IIRC, the team management structure is a three-headed monster with Gutekunst, MLF, and Murphy. I think there is much more to the story that MLF not being able to fix it. That said, MLF's personality doesn't seem to be one of a total authoritarian (and maybe it should be). Jaire should be a leader on the team and when he pulls this stunt, it says a lot more to me about him than it does about MLF.
  9. They went with the biggest movie star at the time -- Arnold. The article really shed some light on what happened with the film. I like the mention of how Richard Dawson mimicked the modern-day game shows. Arnold wouldn't have done too well as a malnourished runt. 🤔
  10. With all of the new digital technology today, I would not be surprised if Ryan Seacrest was replaced by Dick Clark. Running Man was based on a future based in 2025. We are just over a year away. https://weminoredinfilm.com/2017/11/13/the-story-behind-the-making-of-the-running-man/
  11. Maybe this is another indicator that Burnes will be with the team at Spring Training? If the team falters mid-season, he will be traded.
  12. .,. and if they trade Burnes, whoa Nellie!
  13. I didn't like Soccer until my kids played it and I coached it. I come from a wrestling family and find it very entertaining because I know the intricacies. Many people I know find it boring. I like American Football because I grew up with it. Colleagues I know from outside the US don't care for it unless they are familiar with Rugby. I have tried to watch LaCrosse and have no desire to watch it any more. My point -- I think we enjoy the game once we learn about the game. If I were to have kids involved in LaCrosse, I'm sure I would find it exciting. I need to get back to watching Jai Alai and Korfball. 😉
  14. Yeli will undoubtedly need to change his mental focus. His entire life has included the routine of going out to the field and then coming back in. From what I understand, this isn't a switch that isn't easily flipped -- or at least not right away.
  15. If Barry isn't gone after this year, then he must have risqué pictures of LeFleur or Murphy.
  16. It should be interesting at the Women's College Volleyball Showcase next year. https://www.fiservforum.com/events/detail/volleyball
  17. As I was watching some NFL football this weekend, I got annoyed when the cameras had to zoom in on players as they were getting carted off the field. I remember one where the guy was in tears because he screwed up his ankle or knee. Hey, let's zoom in closer and perhaps we could detect the salination levels of his tears or maybe figure out if he eats too much asparagus. There have been times where you could hear the player on the ground yelling in agony. I swear they would even turn of the modulation so you could hear the blood-curdling moans and screams. My son blew out his shoulder playing football his freshman year of high school. I was doing the announcing and you could hear his agony from where he was at on the logo. Not something I wish on anybody. I guess, at least, they don't show replays when a leg snaps or if CPR is required.
  18. A little elf told me that I'm getting tickets to Fiserv for Christmas. Let's go!!!!!
  19. Colin Cowherd says we shouldn't be surprised -- he is a product of American Sports...
  20. One word: OOF
  21. Yes, he was. He was still at West Point and didn't want the coaching change to be leaked. Wisconsin was well ahead of their time leaking information. https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/college/uw/2023/11/02/bob-knight-was-approved-as-uw-basketball-coach-in-1968-but-walked-away/71421063007/
  22. Ok... I root for a small market team. This opens up the door for even more competitive imbalance. Regardless of how people want to spin it, it is simply equine fecal matter.
  23. Instead of Billionaires fighting with Millionaires, it is very soon going to be Billionaires fighting with Billionaires.
  24. Attanasio is such a cheapskate.
  25. I'm not surprised this has turned into a sugar-honey-iced-tea show. That is the American media for you. I should put a picture on Twitter...
