Right and the Ravens are not willing to give Jackson a deal similar to what the Browns gave Watson. That is the deal Jackson is looking for. If a team does this the Ravens will not match it.

It is extremely unlikely the Ravens will match any offer unless it is within what they are willing to pay Lamar Jackson. Right now the Ravens haven't even come close to Jackson's contract demands. If a team meets or comes close to what Jackson is asking for I highly doubt the Ravens will match at all.

I think he gets traded if that were to happen. The better question is if he drops his k% to 20-25% with an OPS around 900 then it becomes interesting. If he is at a 1.100 OPS in AAA and still has a 30+ K% then I think he will be traded over keeping him on the roster.

If you use the baseball trade values site as a starting point this trade doesn't work for the Brewers though I think the BTV site is low on Leiter. They have Leiter at 12.4 but I think his median value should be higher somewhere around the 20's I believe. Now Jung it all depends on how you think his should has healed and if he will still be the same player before he tore is labrum. It has been a year since the surgery so it maybe hard to tell yet so his value being about 30 sounds about right maybe you could go lower to 25. With Leiter you have to believe his '22 stats in AA were a one time thing and he should improve from that. He does have some command issues so maybe the 12.4 is more accurate though I think I would still put him closer to 15 as his median value. Currently Burnes has an excess value of 78.3. Which even if you adjust Jung and Leiter together that only gets you to about half of Burnes value. You have to fill in the rest of the value with other prospects. I don't think the Rangers are a realistic team to trade Burnes to. Woodruff is probably a more realistic option for the Rangers. Something like Jung, Leiter, Figuereo and Teodo (RHP) for Woodruff would be a better deal and within the values that each player projects. That would be the Rangers 1, 5, 19 and 21st ranked prospects for Woodruff. But that all depends on the valuation for Jung and Leiter. I think Leiter is a little low and Jung may also be a bit low. Still it is really hard to get to the valuation of Burnes without the Rangers putting in basically their top 5 prospects for Burnes and that still may not be enough value wise.

Is that an or because I don't think you can get all three and I wouldn't really be all that interested in Rocker. I think Rocker will be a reliever and not a starter.

Yeah he had a near 6 ERA coming into the All Star break. The main drivers in that sim for his weird year were the home runs and increased walks. The sim also doesn't really like Frelick at all he only hit .250/.330/.300 in AAA which I think that would be a really down year for him. The sim also really dislikes Yelich having hit near .225 with no power and just a bit better than league average in OBP. The sim loved Winker, Tellez, Contreras and Mitchell. Adames had a similar season as he had in 2022. The sim also predicted the Brewers trading Urias to the Roayls for Barlow and prospects, Wade Miley to the Giants for Joc Pederson and a couple of prospects and Hiura to the Rockies for McMahon, Blackmon and $4m. I am not sure OOTP's trades are all that realistic to be honest.

I just did an Out of The Park sim using the '24 version. Brewers win the NL Central going 97-65. The game does not like Frelick and Yelich. The game also loves Peralta. I haven't sim'd the playoffs yet but I am going to expect the Brewers to not make it to the WS.

This has nothing to do with comparing players and only has to do with comparing the figure at which it would take to sign Frelick to an extension. This is what agents and teams go by. They go by the recent contracts that have been signed and gauge the player based on this information. So this is relevant to a Frelick extension as it would cost something close to what Gimenez signed for.

There was nothing left for Hiura to prove in the minors when the Brewers promoted him. There were signs that his K% were not good but there really isn't anything more in the minors that the Brewers could have done. Teams would have seen that it is not like they are completely blind and don't have scouts to you know do scouting things. This is just incorrect and you are trying to force your opinion as a fact. There was nothing the Brewers could have done to fix Hiura. It was all on Hiura to fix things in his swing he tried to do it last year and the adjustments he made didn't really make any kind of an improvement on his major issue which is him whiffing on balls in the strike zone. Also when Hiura was hitting good last year it was when his launch angle was higher. This is not saying much but I think even if Hiura changed his swing to be at a lower launch angle he would still be the same player he is now just with less power.

Giménez and the Guardians agree on 7-year $106.5m extension with a club option for an 8th year. This is probably close to what it would take to get Frelick on an extension. The Bears were working on a trade with Houston that would have sent them the #2 pick plus a 1st in '24 and then that pick would have been traded to the Panthers for what they got for the #1 pick. That would have been interesting. The Bears backed out of the talks with Houston as the Texans were not all that committed to trading up to the #1 pick. That would have been a crazy haul for the #1 pick for the Bears if that would have gone down.

Dollander has started out slowly but I don't think he will fall to the Brewers even with the slow start. I still think the Brewers go college pitcher this year as that is very strong this year. But then again it is the Brewers and while everyone is going college pitchers they go high school. Sproat is another arm to watch.

I don't believe the Jets specifically hired Hackett with the aim of bringing in Rodgers. That would just be stupid when there were zero indications that Rodgers would even be available when they hired Hackett. The Hackett thing is way overblown IMHO. Jackson is still an option for the Jets they will have to give up their 1st this year and next year plus other picks. This is probably why they are hesitant on giving up early draft picks for Rodgers. Why give up a 1st round pick when there is another option that can be there for longer? The longer this plays out the less likely the Jets actually make the trade for Rodgers and if they don't make the trade for Rodgers I can see them pivoting to Jackson instead and giving up two first's plus other picks for Jackson.

They could trade for Lamar Jackson. They have enough picks to do it. If this goes on longer that could become a possibility.
