  1. & Chase seals the TRats win with a strikeout and groundout.
  2. Carolina putting together another big inning top of four. Juan Baez double, Cooper Pratt HBP, Daniel Guilarte RBI single (wild pitch), Luis Castillo RBI groundout, and a Reece Walling sac fly has the score at 10 to 1 Mudcats.
  3. Eduardo Garcia double drove in the Manfred Mann, Luke Adams HBP (another two walk, two plunk game for Luke), Jose Acosta sac bunt and a two RBI Felix Valerio single gives the TRats a three run lead heading to bottom of ten.
  4. Carolina erupted for five runs top of two highlighted by a three run Luis Castillo home run. Now leading 7 to 1 top of three.
  5. Carolina picked up a pair of two out runs top of the first via Cooper Pratt walk, Daniel Guilarte single and Luis Castillo double.
  6. Any package for Crochet starts with two of Misio/Pratt/Quero. Mitchell has been hurt a bunch and is already over a year of service time, Black’s offensive game hasn’t been as eye popping in AAA and he can’t play defense, the Brewers have used 16 SP this year and Patrick still sits in AAA. I’m guessing the White Sox will receive considerably more than that in return if they move Crochet. ”Post several over the next few days”…I’d prefer one quality trade proposal over an indeterminate number of ideas with minimal chance of coming to fruition. What purpose does flooding the forum with lopsided, unrealistic offers serve?
  7. Peguero 76 ERA- | 96 FIP- | +0.21 WPA Garcia 68 ERA- | 63 FIP- | +1.83 WPA Harvey 103 ERA- | 80 FIP- | +0.51 WPA Yimi is on a whole other level of performance from the other two. Peguero might be able to fetch a return in the neighborhood of Harvey, but teams likely see their respective ERA/FIP gaps and believe Hunter is in line for positive regression while Elvis is a candidate to fade down the stretch from a run prevention standpoint. Harvey also has a little longer track record of success with 100 IP of 63 ERA- | 65 FIP- work over the last two years versus Peguero at 61 IP of 77 ERA- | 86 FIP- in his breakout last year.
  8. Kikuchi a one year rental, so he shouldn't require top prospects. If you are just looking at ERA (4.54) you might not be impressed, but his peripherals (3.99 xERA, 3.58 FIP, 3.40 SIERA and 3.32 xFIP) all say that he has gotten some bad luck and is due for positive regression in the run prevention department. He's pretty much the best SP option on the market not named Skubal, Crochet, Flaherty or Fedde.
  9. Joshua Quezada with a nice start for DSL Uno (currently leading 5 to 2 top of nine) throwing five scoreless with 3 H | 6 K. Jesus Made has also singled twice, walked twice, stolen two bags and scored a pair of runs while Juan Martinez is 3 for 4 with a double. Frandy LaFond went deep for the second time this year for DSL Dos (currently tied 4 to 4 bottom of seven).

  11. Not the "Big Bat" that most would ideally prefer but Jazz Chisolm Jr. could make some sense. Has graded out questionably in CF (-15 DRS | +4 OAA over 1,581 innings), but is pretty solidly plus at 2B (+7 DRS | +8 OAA over 1,330 innings). Could play primarily LF rest of this year then slide into 2B next year with Turang moving to SS assuming Adames departs in free agency. On offense he would definitely add to the Team Speed concept with his +14.6 BsR ranking 10th since 2021 among 275 players with at least 1,000 PAs over that stretch. Has pretty even splits this year at 97 wRC+ vs LHP | 109 wRC+ vs RHP, but had much more severe splits over 2021-23 at 57 wRC+ vs LHP | 122 wRC+ vs RHP. Would also theoretically benefit from a move out of Marlins Park (89 HR StatCast park factor) to AmFam (114 HR StatCast park factor), though he is a pretty heavy ground ball guy with a 109 GB%+.
  12. Luke Adams just keeps on getting on base with another single, two walks and a stolen base (his 25th), though he did get caught for the 10th time too. Was at 265/544/588 (220 wRC+) over 57 July PAs before tonight.
  13. Some other reliever performances of note tonight... Stiven Cruz struck out three and faced the minimum allowing just a single (wiped out trying to steal on batter's interference) over three scoreless frames for the TRats. Speaking of Indy League signings, Sam Gardner just keeps stacking zeroes (14 of 18 appearances) with 2 IP | 1 H | 1 BB | 2 K for the Shuckers. Tyler Jay went line out, walk (caught stealing), single, hit by pitch, strikeout to put up a zero in his first Nashville outing.
  14. Recent Indy League signing Tyler Bryant put up his seventh scoreless appearance in eight trips to the mound now with the Mudcats racking up 16 K | 5 BB over his first 9.1 IP of affiliated ball.
  15. Wisco has gone nine up nine down as top of the order looks to get something going here in the fourth inning. & they do. Luis Lara singled, Jadher Areinamo grounded into a fielder’s choice then stole second, and Luke Adams has singled him home to even up the score at one apiece, KC Hunt currently at 3 IP | 1 ER | 4 H | 1 BB | 1 K with two wild pitches.
  16. Joey Wiemer walked, stole second, went to third on a throwing error, then scored on a Wes Clarke ground out to get Nashville on the board bottom of two. Currently trailing 3 to 1 heading to bottom of three.
  17. Daniel Corniel worked four scoreless (3 H | 1 BB | 3 K), but Dikember Sanchez finally surrendered his first run as a Mudcat on a solo shot in the fifth as Carolina trails 1 to 0.
  18. Shane Smith has gone twelve up twelve down (4 K) so far but the Biloxi bats have only managed a base on balls and hit by pitch through five frames leaving things even up at zero each heading to bottom five.
  19. Yup. Tight at the top with Gallo 161 K%+, Hiura 160 K%+, Sano 159 K%+ all just fractions and/or rounding errors apart.
  20. Orioles position players 116 wRC+ | +3.9 BsR | -6.4 DEF | 20.2 WAR Brewers position players 107 wRC+ | +13.9 BsR | +4.6 DEF | 19.0 WAR (Orioles hit considerably better, Brewers almost make it back up on the bases and in the field) Orioles rotation 549 IP | 94 ERA- | 98 FIP- | 9.4 rWAR Brewers rotation 482 IP | 102 ERA- | 110 FIP- | 6.8 rWAR (Orioles rotation is better across the board.) Orioles bullpen 355 IP | 95 ERA- | 91 FIP- | +2.36 WPA Brewers bullpen 422 IP | 80 ERA- | 101 FIP- | +9.31 WPA (Orioles bullpen has better peripherals, but can't match the Brewers on run prevention or context based performance. Orioles batters also lead MLB in WPA while their rotation is 6th, so that leaves less win probability to add for their relievers.)
  21. Outrageous based on what? Pre-draft internet rankings? I'll trust the Brewers scouting and player development staff over online experts.
  22. Zero in 27 PA is extreme, but lack of walks was always an issue for Keston too. From 2019-22 he posted an 83 BB%+ which ranked 170th out of 247 batters with at least 1,000 PAs over that stretch. Of course his 160 K%+ ranked 246th (or 2nd depending on how one looks at it), and his ISO+ of 124 came in at 67th. Hiura got the 3TO label a lot, but he was really more like 1.5TO with the lack of walks and good but not truly top level power.
  23. DSL Dos loses 3 to 2. 18yo RHP Argenis Aparicio went 5 IP | 1 ER | 3 H | 1 BB | 2 K lowering his season ERA to 2.84. He's been about as consistent as it gets for a DSL pitcher with eight outings now of four or five innings each and no more than two earned runs allowed in any of them.
  24. Sure, but he put up 1.9 WAR his rookie year so over the last five years and 736 PA he has been worth -1.2 WAR.
  25. Brewers taking care of business in their backyard, now 23-13 versus the NLC. Pirates at 17-15 after beating STL today are the only other NLC team with a winning record in division.
