  1. Miller moved to third on an Ernesto Martinez Jr. double then came around to score on an Adam Hall sac fly. 1-0 Shuckers heading to top three.
  2. Should be hungry to eat some innings then.
  3. DSL Uno fall 6-1 to to the Orioles Orange (now 14-3 on the season). 17yo switch hitting second baseman Eric Martinez was the lone multi-hitter at 2 for 4, though Juan Ortuno, Engel Paulino and Danny Puerta each singled and walked to reach multiple times. Puerta also reached a third time via HBP. Wande Torres pitched his second scoreless inning of the young season (2 H | 2 K) to open the game, while Luis Guevara went scoreless over the final two frames (3 H | 1 BB | 4 K).
  4. Pie in the sky upside is Brewers work their magic and unlock Miley part deux. As of now he can't be much worse than Rodriguez has been and it should allow Carlos the opportunity to recombobulate in Nashville.
  5. Hopefully Darrell can latch on with an organization that has a little less bullpen depth and have an Erceg-esque ascent somewhere in his future.
  6. Career to date stats… 184/243/272 (46 wRC+) 5.7 BB% | 28.4 K% +2.5 BSR | +6 OAA | 0.4 WAR 201/277/349 (70 wRC+) 8.5 BB% | 28.6 K% +0.7 BSR | +7 OAA | 0.7 WAR Only real advantage PCA has to this point is being born three years later.
  7. A tale of two Cardinals… First 39 games (15-24) Hit: 83 wRC+ (25th) SP: 1.3 rWAR (25th) RP: +0.21 WPA (20th) Twas a glorious 39 games, but I think even the most hopeful Brewers fan knew STL wasn’t going to keep up a 100 loss pace all year. Last 38 games (25-13) Hit: 112 wRC+ (9th) SP: 2.6 rWAR (17th) RP: +3.08 WPA (3rd) Bats and relievers have flipped the script, but I similarly wouldn’t expect them to keep up a 107 win pace over the rest of the season. Maintaining their season to date W% of .519 would get them to 84 wins, right around what the projections said coming into the year. Maintaining the .658 W% they’ve been on recently would put them at 96 wins to end the year, or 25 more than they won in 2023.
  8. Until he breaks out of this funk, I’d switch up William’s workload to catching no more than two days in a row with every third day alternating between DH and off completely for mental/physical rest. The downside is that the Brewers are only 6-11 so far this year with Sanchez behind the plate, though that has already started regressing to the mean with wins in each of Gary’s last three starts after opening the year 3-11 when he was catching.
  9. Antony Gomez double, Josh Adamczewski single and Eric Bitonti’s second double of the game plated another run for the Zona Crew bottom of nine, but that was as far as the rally got making it a 7-4 loss.
  10. Dencer Geraldo on in the 9th and strikes out the first guy. A walk, wild pitch, stolen base and second strikeout had him one out away from Zero Club status. And he got the ground ball to first baseman Gery Holguin but apparently could not corral the throw for out number three allowing the seventh AZ Reds run to score. (Anecdotally, it was also a Holguin throw that Luiyin Alastre couldn’t corral earlier, which naturally begs the question…Can Gery Holguin Pitch?) From there it went wild pitch, HBP, walk to load the bases but Geraldo got out of it with a pop out. Three more outs and one last chance for the Zona Crew bats.
  11. Nova gives up a single and stolen bag out of the gate but escapes unscathed going ground out, strikeout. line out to strand the runner on third base.
  12. Bitonti doubled, but that was it bottom of seven. Jose Nova is on in relief of Flores top of eight.
  13. Luiyin Alastre has hit the error trifecta tonight - one each fielding. throwing and missing a catch on a ball thrown to him. AZ Crew now trail 6-3 heading to bottom of seven with Tyler Rodriguez, Josh Adamczewski and Eric Bitonti due up.
  14. Flores went 1-2-3 in both the fifth and sixth innings picking up another strikeout along the way. Zona Crew still trailing 5-3 heading to top of seven.
  15. Hiura is so brutal afield I wouldn’t be surprised if he is one of the exceptions that hits better when DHing, but 141 PA spread out over three calendar years is hardly definitive of anything. Maybe he’ll get a chance with LAA, they’ve got recent #11 overall pick Schanuel at 1B but have gotten pretty brutal DH production (90 wRC+ | 20th) with Willie Calhoun the primary culprit. Not getting a guaranteed MLB deal this offseason, then getting released by the Tigers, there’s already some writing on the wall for Keston, but if a going nowhere Angels club doesn’t even give him a shot at some point this summer he’ll be getting dangerously close to Crash Davis territory (but at least Crash could catch).
  16. Anthony Flores puts up the first zero of the evening for the AZ Crew top of four going strikeout. ground out, ground rule double, strikeout.
  17. Edgardo Ordonez ROE and an Antony Gomez single get two runs back for the AZ Crew to cut the deficit to 5-3 heading to top of four.
  18. Jackson got done somewhat dirty in the third. Three ground balls to start the inning should have been all it took, but a pair of Luiyin Alastre errors opened the door for a wild pitch and single that scored another two AZ Reds. An Eric Bitonti walk and Gery Holguin single have a couple on for the Zona Crew with one down bottom of three trailing 5-1.
  19. He averaged 26 HR per 500 PA prior to this year, so about 15 more.
  20. Yanez walked the second batter of the second frame too and was relieved by Isaiah Jackson, who promptly struck out his first batter faced. He then went walk, run scoring sharply hit ground out, walk, fly out to get out of the inning. Now 3-1 AZ Reds with the 7-8-9 hitters due up for the Zona Crew bottom two - Antony Gomez, Yannic Walther and Tyler Rodriguez.
  21. Zona Crew half of the first has gone.. Josh Adamczewski HBP (only seems fair) stolen bag to third on an Eric Bitonti ground out Luiyin Alastre ROE scores Josh balk Gery Holguin walk Pedro Ibarguen ROE loads em up Edgardo Ordonez 4-6-3 Score is 2-1 AZ Reds and Yanez has opened the second with a walk and wild pitch (for those playing ACL bingo at home)
  22. Ismael Yanez had a rough start to the first going HBP, HBP, bunt single, ground rule double to score two AZ Reds. But he bounced back alright going line out. strikeout. strikeout to strand the runners on 2nd and 3rd and end the inning without further damage.
  23. No injury would be the best news of all, but I’d say Clarke having a non season ending toe injury is better news than a season ending arm injury.
  24. Frelick Arm Strength 87.4 MPH (71st percentile) Chourio Arm Strength 84.0 MPH (44th percentile)
  25. Maybe even crazier is that they've still gone 19-16 over that stretch.
