    Eric Prado works around a leadoff single to put up a third zero top of six. Top of the order - Josh Adamczewski, Eric Bitonti, Luiyin Alastre - due up for the Zona Crew in the bottom half trying to get some runs.

    Sam Gardner put up a scoreless rehab frame (1 H | 1 K) for the Zona Crew and Eric Prado has followed with two zeroes of his own (1 BB | 3 K). Unfortunately, Ismael Yanez surrendered a two out grand slam in the second and a double each from Yannic Walther and Eric Bitonti have been about it for the Zona Crew bats as they trail 4 to 0 bottom of five.

    Ryan Middendorf pitched a one two three eighth (1 K) and has gotten the call to come back out for the ninth. Opens with a single and walk, but responds with an F4, strikeout and another strikeout to close out the 5 to 2 Nashville win, picking up his fifth save in the process.

    A trio of singles from Brian Navarreto, Francisco Mejia and Isaac Collins have added a fifth run to the Sounds score heading to top of nine with a three run lead now.

    With two outs and two on Brewer Hicklen was intentionally walked to load the bases for Owen Miller (who took that personally) and singled home a run. Now 4 to 2 Sounds top of eight.

    TRats added two more runs via Eduardo Garcia triple, Tayden Hall walk and a pair of singles from Jesus Chirinos and Felix Valerio. Bayden Root pitched two scoreless (1 H | 2 K) before giving way to Yerlin Rodriguez who worked a one two three eighth (1 K).

    Misio put up another zero in the sixth to bring his final line to 6 IP | 0 R | 2 H | 2 BB | 1 HBP | 10 K as the dominant outings are starting to stack up now. Nick Merkel worked a one two three seventh (1 K) as Nate Peterson takes the mound for the eighth.

    Misio worked around a pair of walks and a hit by pitch in the sixth to put up another zero while registering three more strikeouts.

    Brian Navarreto reached on catcher’s interference followed by Tyler Black and Francisco Mejia walks to load the bases for an Isaac Collins sac fly tying the score at two apiece bottom of five. Two on two out for Wes Clarke who doubles home a run to give Nashville a 3 to 2 lead.

    Tyler Black singled, stole second, and scored on a Francisco Mejia base knock to get the Sounds on the board bottom of one. But Carlos Rodriguez (the pitcher) gave up a pair of solo jacks top of two as Nashville now trails 2 to 1 top of three.

    Carlos Rodriguez (the OF) singled, Darrien Miller walked, then both came around to score on a Connor Scott double in the top of the first. Top of third Brock Wilken and Darrien Miller have each singled with a Connor Scott walk loading the bases one down. And an Ernesto Martinez Jr. triple clears the bases as Zavier Warren steps to the plate now with the score 5 to 0 Shuckers. Misio has gone six up six down two strikeouts so far.

    Didn't realize until just now that Joshua Quezada is who we got from the Yankees for Clayton Andrews. Hopefully he can offset that Jake Bauers trade somewhat with both Jace Avina (123 wRC+ in A+ with K rate trimmed to 25.5%) and Brian Sanchez (146 wRC+ in the FCL) having nice years in the NY system.

    There's nothing particularly advanced about it. The Brewers were on pace to win 96 games at the split, no one believes they are a 96 win true talent team. The longest losing stretch they had in the first half was going 11-12 from 0414 through 0508, I fully expect them to play a longer stretch of baseball worse than one game under .500 at some point in the second half because regression is inevitable.

    Yeah. Frelick is probably the most successful of the lil guys we've drafted so far. Not a draft pick, but Ortiz is listed at 5'9" on MLB.com. Lara, Jadher, Baez, Nadal, now Juan Ortuno on DSL1 are other examples with varying degrees of success in the low minors, though they were all international signings obviously.

    Black moving around the diamond feels more like something a potential trade partner asked us to do so they could get looks at him in different spots. If the Brewers planned on using him in more of a super utility role I think they would have been playing him all over the place before yesterday.

    Miller was a Top 25 prospect in all of baseball entering 2023. Monasterio would be a AAA infielder for the Dodgers, Peguero would be their 5th reliever at best, Boeve probably slots in around the teens in a stacked Dodgers system. If the Dodgers shopped a talented young starting pitcher like Miller I think they’d receive better offers than this.

    First FanGraphs mock has is taking Seaver King at #17… “The Brewers aren’t scared off by a lack of prototypical size (Eric Brown Jr., Robert Moore, Dylan O’Rae, etc.), which is the only thing King lacks. Milwaukee has also been more open to letting guys try to move up the defensive spectrum, which would ideally happen for King, who played mostly third base at Wake. This is the first spot Kaelen Culpepper’s name has surfaced. Carson Benge has also been mentioned here and at the next two picks.“ Of the names mentioned in the article Moore (#14) was already off the board with Benge (#19), Schmidt (#20) and Brecht (#22) all mocked right after the Brewers pick.
