  1. Grant Anderson for the 8th? We shouldn't want to use Megill or Uribe tonight. I trust Megill would get used, though.
  2. Hamilton at 3B and Ortiz at SS seems best in the near-term.
  3. It has been a volatile futures market for Brandon Woodruff today. He seems perfectly capable of mixing speeds, hitting his locations and keeping hitters off balance enough to be effective. I predict Woodruff provides market value performance in 2026.
  4. Looks like Woodruff was coming back out for the 6th.
  5. Second time for Mitchell, two on and less than two outs.
  6. 10 pitch inning. 30 pitches through two innings. 90 pitches seems optimistic to get through six.
  7. I think Woodruff is capable of nine pitch innings with his "pitch to contact" arsenal.
  8. Some adventure in the outfield. Woodruff's change up looks sharp.
  9. If it misses by a half inch, I have some sympathy. I agree that 2-0 count with one out in first inning is probably not on the optimal times to challenge flashcard.
  10. Bello won that matchup against Mitchell. Low breaking ball fooled Garrett.
  11. I think we need innings today.
  12. Six from Woodruff would be nice. Would we use Woodford with a two run lead in the sixth or seventh? Or a tie game? It would be nice to not use Megill or Uribe. Anderson and Koenig are probably fine today.
  13. Right-hander Brayan Bello starts for Boston. Bello last started against Milwaukee on May 25, 2025 allowing 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB while striking out 2 over 4.2 IP. The Brewers won 6-5 in 10 innings. Bello has not made it out of the 5th inning in any of his three starts against Milwaukee. Woodruff has one career start against Boston on July 29, 2022. Woodruff allowed only 4 H, 1 ER, 2 BB while striking out 9 over 6.1 IP. Brewers won 4-1. Milwaukee swept Boston at American Family Field last year. source WED THU FRI SAT SUN TOT Ashby 9 0 0 41 0 50 Anderson, G 15 0 0 0 12 27 Hall 19 0 0 38 0 57 Woodford 0 0 0 0 0 0 Zerpa 0 0 0 0 23 23 Uribe 0 0 0 14 14 28 Koenig 0 0 0 17 0 17 Megill 0 0 0 22 12 34
  14. Gasser seems to be deserving of a start in Milwaukee.
  15. Zerpa for another inning or Megill on back to back days?
  16. There are 119 active pitchers in MLB with 17 IP or more against the Brewers. Two have not allowed earned runs against Milwaukee: Chris Bassitt and Kris Bubic. source Only one inactive pitcher has 17 IP against Milwaukee without allowing an earned run, Jose Contreras. It is fair to say Bubic has been historically small sample dominant against the Brewers. Fun to review the mix of excellent and mediocre pitchers who have mowed us down over the years. 🙂
  17. The Royals send left-hander Kris Bubic in the final game of the series. Bubic has not allowed an earned run against Milwaukee in 17.1 career IP. Bubic was also the starting pitcher against the Brewers during last year's home opener at American Family Field (11-1 win for KC). Kyle Harrison makes his second start for Milwaukee. Harrison has one career appearance against Kansas City, appearing ut of the bullpen for San Francisco on May 20, 2025. He allowed 1 ER over 1.1 IP striking out 2. Harrison struck out 40% of opposing batters during his previous start with 47.5% chase rate thanks largely to his four seam fastball that he threw 55% of the time.
  18. We should go to the leverage arms soon? Koenig, Uribe and Megill.
  19. An impossibly low .133 BABIP and walking 15% of the time He’ll be alright
  20. I like the ideas you shared. I personally think player continuity is a myth or overvalued across all major sports. I only follow baseball but my perception is aside from just a few franchise players, a meaningful percentage of NBA and NFL rosters turnover each year. Every year there are hundreds of new players being drafted and joining the pool of available talent. Why worry about keeping the same players for nearly a decade? New players play well and become new fan favorites after a short while.
