  1. Garrett Mitchell can stop taking strike three any time now. Really would love to see him dropped in the order. I don't like him like some of you do.
  2. Pirates are 4-14 in August. 4-15 if you count the last game in July. How?
  3. 390 pitches through nine. What a long game
  4. Glad he didn’t want megill in a pressure situation his first appearance back
  5. Nice job, Murph. I don’t rag on him often but this was bad.
  6. Carpenter up of course. David Freese on deck
  7. Brewers have won their last 7 games in St. Louis. 11-3 in their last 14 against the Cards.
  8. DeNiro's best work.
  9. You just know if the Brewers played themselves, the batters would be salivating at the thought of getting at those weak starters, and the pitchers would be champing at the bit to face this sorry group of hitters.
  10. I untucked my shirt before watching this.
  11. The Braves signed Gio Urshela, or as I expect him to soon be called, "World Series MVP Gio Urshela." You just know he will mash in Atlanta.
  12. Wouldn't that be just like the Cardinals to go 6-1 in only six games? #BFIB
  13. I was thinking the HBP was a hit. So the fact you pointed out wasn’t on my mind
  14. Rea, 46 pitches through four scoreless
  15. If the playoffs were next week, it would be broken. good god.
  16. Like other leagues, I think we are seeing more load management in baseball. Why kill yourselves to win 105 games? Just get to the playoffs.
  17. Sad to say, I never played in a major league game after the surgery. Seriously, the relief was immediate. I did two months of PT and was running again within three months. Had surgery in Feb, was back to normal by summer.
  18. After six months of “grit my teeth and hold on to my chair” pain, I had a discectomy in 2009. I had done steroids, traction, PT, rest. Nothing helped. The day after my surgery I got out of bed, and it was fixed. Pain gone. I hope Yelich has the same result. Full disclosure: I am not a professional athlete making 20+ million per year, so I realize the stakes are different.
  19. What a weird flex. I think he was trying to hit back at the fans who think they don't spend enough. "See fans, we are spending money! We may be battling for last place, but we aren't cheap!" The problem is, it makes Hoyer seem really bad at his job. And their 40-million dollar manager doesn't even count in that number.
  20. Come on, man. You beat me by a minute!
  21. It is interesting to me that the Guardians are 5-5 against the White Sox. KC and MIN are both 12-1 in games against CWS. Cleveland could have a much more comfy lead. KC and MIN's entire margin above .500 is built on their domination of the White Sox.
  22. Given that Murphy seems to like L-R-L-R for the most part, do you think he should abandon that for Hoskins in the three spot? Because he's probably not moving Chourio, Contreras or Adames down. I love that Chourio's improvement has allowed Murphy to move Adames down, and I like Contreras in the cleanup spot.
  23. And, a game thread is a game thread. Often, they become remixes of other threads. Frelick has a bad ab? Say it! But then it bleeds over into an issue that is discussed in its own thread. And, if posters can bring up their own old posts to prove they were correct, I reserve the right to point out when they were wrong (and when they were correct as well!). That Dodger series beat me up as a fan. So happy with a split. I think they can handle Cleveland.
