    LF defense probably not as important when the wind is blowing out at like it’s supposed to tonight.

    The lowest the Super 2 threshold has been since 2009 is 2.115. To be extremely safe and wait for the .114 years of service time cut off you could call him up on June 7th. But it can vary a lot. This year Super 2 was 2.140 for reference. If they are waiting for Super 2 reasons, I’d say that first week of June would be the realistic time to expect a call up.

    If that's what you meant then I apologize but it definitely read like you were talking about Chourio's play in CF based on "That leaves LF, which means Chourio is in CF and we saw how that looked."

    If by soon you mean post Super 2 deadline, I agree. I am skeptical it would be sooner than that. I think if someone gets called up before Super 2 it would be Pratt because it's easier to do that because Hamilton and Ortiz can both be optioned.

    I'm saying the cheap shot was you taking a shot at how Chourio's CF defense looked in the 8th inning when he didn't pull in a difficult catch. Chourio has looked really good defensively to start the season. Easily the best OF play overall so far since he came off the IL.

    Feel like that's a bit of a cheap shot at Chourio. Mitchell maybe makes that catch but you said he has been bad at finishing catches yesterday. Perkins doesn't get to that one the way he's running these days. The issue on that play is that it was the LF ball all day. Chourio was playing shaded to right and that ball was hit deep to the gap in left center. If Chourio was in LF he would have made that catch look relatively simple. He caught a ball in a similar spot yesterday in the 3rd inning that had a 35% catch probability.

    For those pining for Bauers getting OF reps that 8th inning is a good example of why you're not going to see it super often. The bad throw home on the sac fly but also on the near catch by Chourio, that would have been caught by Chourio if he was playing LF. Based on the OF alignment that should have been the LF ball. Chourio really had no business making that catch based on where he started on the play. I don't think Murphy had a good game today. Pinch hitting Rengifo against a LHP was very questionable. Against LHP this season he's looked like Perkins has against RHP which is pitcher esque. Uncompetitive 3 pitch AB. The other moment I didn't like from Murphy was letting Frelick hit against Rogers then pinch hitting Vaughn for Mitchell. Frelick was Roger's third hitter so Rogers had to face him. You could have set up Vaughn against a LHP with the tying run on 2B. Instead you got Frelick against a LHP and Vaughn against a RHP. Another major story is the Brewers batters being horrific at challenging. 2 outs in the 8th with the tying run on 3rd base and Rengifo takes a high strike to go down 0-1 in the count and doesn't challenge. 2 outs in the 9th with the tying run on 3rd base and Frelick takes a high strike to go down 0-1 in the count and doesn't challenge. Massive swings on the likelihood to score in those situations when you go from 1-0 to 0-1.

    Yeah I just don't care much for DRS. I think it's a pretty terrible metric for measuring range because it doesn't take into consideration defensive positioning. Mitchell's arm has been bad this year but I don't think that's a sustainable thing because he has a cannon. The point is that you just cannot be letting Perkins hit left handed in close games. He's hitting worse than a pitcher would when he hits left handed. His defense is not that good to justify that. If this is how it's going to be going forward then one of them needs to go down and Lara needs to come up and start every day in CF

    Yes what you're saying about Mitchell is true but almost all of these plays have been like 20% catch probability or lower. The most recent one against San Diego that he dove for and couldn't pull down was a 5% catch probability. These are extremely tough plays. Perkins nice running catch against Rice in the Yankees series for example was an 85% catch probability that he made look really good because his jump was really poor. I don't think Perkins would even be in the vicinity to miss the finish like Mitchell has with the way he's looked this year.

    I'd agree with this if Perkins had looked remotely near the guy he was defensively two years ago but Perkins range has looked a lot worse than Mitchell's has this year. Perkins has been making routine plays look like good catches because his jumps have been that bad.

    I think Strzelecki. My hunch is he had an opt out clause coming up and Brewers called him up in case there were mop up innings tonight to DFA him for Gasser tomorrow.

    Also I've been the cool the jets on promoting Lara guy but I'm sorry if you're going to let Perkins get two leverage AB hitting LH because you don't trust Mitchell defensively then Lara should be up and one of those two should be in AAA. Perkins literally looks like a pitcher hitting left handed at this point. He should never be facing RHP.

    We definitely should not take Patrick for granted. Having a pitcher you can trust to throw 4 leverage innings out of the pen is special. That's a very rare thing to have.

    Irresponsible hot take but I think Hughes is a top 10 prospect in the system by the end of the year and a future Top 100 prospect

    I genuinely fear they are going to do long term psychological damage to Jose Nova by continuing to throw him out there in games when he clearly isn't good enough. He goes 0.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 0 SO, 1 HBP in 37 pitches with 15 strikes. Leaves the bases loaded for Alastre so he will probably be up to 6 ER by the end of the night with his ERA sitting at 28.08 currently.

    The type of TOS surgery Priester would need from my understanding is the one that Wheeler had. Wheeler had it late August last year and and made his first start this year in late April. If it is the other TOS surgery you could probably kiss his career goodbye

    Just got pulled. 1.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO, 1 HBP but bases were loaded when he left. 47 pitches, 23 strikes, 24 balls.
