Didn't the Brewer announcers say early in yesterday's broadcast that the 'Stros had to catch a late flight last night and wouldn't get into Milwaukee until like 3 AM this morning? And of course, their game w/ the Rangers went extras, so that wouldn't help.

 

I'm sure they sent Jennings ahead early, but the bats could be a little fatigued tonight - not what you want when you're facing Sheets. Here's to Ben being a bully and kicking sand in the face of the Houston hitters, and to the bats shaking off a woeful performance on Sunday.

Small simple splits for any batter tend to be more extreme, one way or the other. It's because they aren't generally telling us much about the batter's actual skill, much less his expected performance against the pitcher in question. They are interesting in a historical standpoint but they typically have little no or no predictive value.

It's nice to see that our bullpen's worst ERA belongs to Capellan at 4.09, while the Astro's bullpen's best ERA belongs to Borkowski at 4.35!

 

As much as we'd all love another dominate arm in the bullpen, it's really hard to complain about the job they've done as a group so far this year.

The only reliever Yost didn't throw into the extra innings mix yesterday was Villanueva. If Sheets doesn't go at least 6, I think they'll be in a little trouble. Personally I'm not comfortable with anyone but Villy out of the pen right now so heres to a Sheets/Villy stellar performance. But I guess of Sheets wants to do it all himself I wouldn't complain.
