It does get to be a bit much just like it does with Favre, but Jeter is a very smart baseball player.

I completely agree, Jason. In fact, I was just saying that to Principessa (who, as you might expect, is out of her gourd at the moment!)

I've been watching the Angels-Yankees game for about 2 minutes and Tim McCarver has already unleashed these two statements, both about Rod Carew:

"He's one of the few players to have his number retired by the Minnesota Twins and the Angels."

"He used to steal home... from third."

Someday, when McCarver is no longer has the #1 color commentary job in all of baseball...

Oh, sorry, I was just staring glassy-eyed at the wall with a faint smile & forgot what I was going to say.

Wow, and Ken Rosenthal basically just said the Angels are mentally weak. (Paraphrasing) 'Teams are just falling apart at the sight of the Yankees. Maybe the tough-minded Phillies are the team that can take them on'

Seriously, the Milwaukee Brewers have a better broadcasting team on an everyday basis than the supposed #1 broadcast in baseball.

I've decided to root for the Dodgers in the NLCS, solely so I have more opportunities to listen to Vin Scully. Thanks, Gameday audio!

I swear, if Matt freakin' Stairs ties it in the 9th, I might swear off the rest of the postseason tonight (instead of waiting until a Yankees-Phillies WS).

Seriously, after he hit that home run off Dave Bush in April or May or whenever, my mom emailed me to ask who he was, and said he looks like he should be getting AARP mail.

These games have been some of the most dramatic I can ever remember in the playoffs. Usually there's a few dramatic games in the playoffs, but nearly every game in the playoffs this year has been. It's incredibly fun to watch.

Agreed, MNoD. BA would have been a much better choice.

Oh Vin, why are you leaving us without your smooth pipes after this season!? The Dodgers are the next team after the Brewers whose games I've watched most since we've had Extra Innings. It's always worth it to tune in for Vin.

I wonder who makes the decision to allow these horrible announcers to continue broadcasting. You think that these media companies would eventually realize that the overwhelming majority of baseball fans would prefer someone else to be announcing. Even casual fans must realize how bad these guys are. I definitely watch less of these games because I can't stand the announcing.

Another complaint is that the games take way, way too long. Every pitcher turns into Claudio Vargas in the postseason. I do not have 4 hours to watch a baseball game. There should be a limit to how often they can call time out in a particular at bat.

That being said, the games themselves have been great. It would be nice to see both series go to at least game 6.

You mean next season, right? Everything I see online says 2010 is his farewell season.
