battlekow to the Brewerfan Staff

Posted

I'd like to formally welcome battlekow to the staff here at Brewerfan.net. He joined the site in 2005 and has been very active in the minor league forums for quite a while now. I was a fan of his work at BrewCrewBall, which for many of us is a site frequently visited. We're very happy to have him here in a more official capacity, and I look forward to what he brings to the staff.

Welcome aboard!

This is an exciting addition.

Welcome, battlekow. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I'd often wondered why he wasn't a part of the staff, given all the good work he does in general -- but specifically in the Minor Leagues forum

Does this mean I don't have to carry the rest of the staff's bags on road trips now? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Congrats, battlekow!

Does this mean more "front page" stuff on the minors? I know that there was talk about wanting more visits to the site and not just the forums.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Let's just hope battlekow doesn't scuff up my bag the way crewcrazy did. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Glad to have you aboard.

That's part of the reasoning, yes. Also, battlekow will once again give us a 4th voice in the Power 50 rankings, and I'll have formal help more often than in past years with Daily Link Reporting come the regular season. Needless to say, we think we signed the top free agent contributor we could find this offseason http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the warm welcome.

Yeah, yeah, enough with the pleasantries. I've got some dry cleaning that needs to be picked up. Get on that, STAT!

The deal is preliminary, but we feel that we'll be able to address the interest of both parties sufficiently. We feel that battlekow posts "the right way", and brings some much needed depth to our organization. He will make the staff around him better and we believe he has the "x factor" which will propel our site to the next level.

In other words, battlekow is classy.

This is another lazy signing by BtA and Co, and represents another overpay. Couldn't a trade have been explored with northsidebaseball or cardsclubhouse.com? This season, battlekow's VORP and WOBA numbers are projected to decline. This franchise is going down the tubes fast, and it's time for ownership to evaluate where this once promising organization is heading.
