Can we stop asking why Counsell doesn't bunt more, please? We suck at it and therefore don't do it much. Pretty simple.

 

To be fair by failing to bunt we increased our odds to win, that happens way more than people think it does. Bunting is a super low win probability move in most cases.

weird to say, but gotta thank the Cubs in part for this win - Twins' pen isn't good to begin with, and their staff got abused over the weekend...hard to believe that was their best remaining option out of the pen to get through the 10th, but it probably was given the circumstances.

That is still bothering me 7 innings later.

 

All he had to do was ask...

 

You and me both. I dont dwell on bad ball/strike calls, but thats a pitch that a guy swung at and missed by 6 inches and an ump called a foul ball, and now it has had a direct impact on the outcome of the game. Even if the brewers win, theyre burning bullpen innings that they wouldnt have had to otherwise.

 

That and it got my 4 and a half year old outta bed when I loudly said "no way" at the TV... which then took me 20 minutes to get her back to bed and explain why daddy was talking to the TV.

 

I'll take the walk off W and Doug Eddings only cost us using Barnes (since I assume Knebel woulda been in the top of the 9th tied at 4).
