Gross, just like the ChiSox series letdown after we were riding high. But now we will go 5-0 in PIT and have 60 wins at the break. I am already pumped about watching 2 games on Saturday

Insanity. Chance to win the game and you punt. Why not just say we give we want to get out of town. Again I repeat what I have said before you would never know this team missed the playoffs by one game. They do not act like every game matters.

Again there are no pitchers left.

Hader didn't pitch yesterday did he?? How can there be no pitchers left?

Yeah, I've been a fervent defender of Counsell, but this is hard to defend. The availability is stuff is kind of a joke, guys who throw 1 inning, can't, under any circumstance, be tasked with getting 3 outs? That can be like 8 pitches.

The alternative is letting a reliever bat with RISP in extras, then totally white flagging the bottom frame? Sorry, not buying it.

Posted

gut punch of a game to come back and tie it, have multiple chances to take the lead and fail, only to essentially punt away the game in the 12th.

I would think Lopez goes down, and Orf probably should too, so they can get a couple more relievers up before tomorrow night's game.

35 pitches on Monday. Unavailable until tomorrow I'm sure. The way they use him is arguable, but it is what it is, and it's been that way all year.

This is simply a case of a bunch of short starts coming back to haunt the team. It is going to happen unless these starters start going 6+ more regularly.

Wow, really poor throw by Yelich.

Good defender other than his terrible arm. Pretty much as advertised. That's why he'll always be a LF.

like Kris Davis without the Home run power

This is why managers that have their pitchers stand out in the corner OF for one AB and then put them back in are smart, not stupid.

a terrible lost to a bad team and a series loss almost have the Feeling that the pirates are going to knock us ut of first place before the Break. I am not sure how we are going to get by with the way the pen is used,

Yelich double clutches every single throw to the plate. Great hitter

Is he though?

I mean...yeah. Maybe you prefer pretty good hitter? No he’s not going to get MVP votes but the guy can hit.

Holy crap guys. Get a grip.

"i agree these type of game when the brewers don't win will come back to bite them like last year"

"This team is an Aguillar 0-10 slump from being in free fall. This is ridiculous."

The Brewers scored 35 total runs in their last 7 games. That is 5 per game. That is really good. The offense is fine. Frustrating... but we have an unhealthy Shaw, an unhealthy Braun, and a make shift middle infield. We are going to have droughts. Regarding the "come back to bite them" silliness... the Brewers have been near AMAZING in late inning games this year. The clutch gene has been all over us. We aren't going to win every one and we aren't going to look pretty in every one.

Chill. Everyone go to sleep.

The bullpen performed admirably. The offense squandered their chance in extras when the top of the lineup couldn't push one across. Tough to win when your starter doesn't make it out of the 4th.

I do agree with most everyone. You take a shot at your final position player at least making contact and getting lucky. There's never "nobody" else available. Somebody else can throw for goodness sake. Not saying the outcome would've been different but you really need to exhaust all your options.

Better days to com.

Thank you. No kidding. Yeah, losses suck, but the sky is not falling.

I'm betting we'll see Houser and Woodruff up tomorrow to soak up pen innings over the weekend. I bet Lopez, Orf and Peralta are all optioned down.

Braun is never healthy, and not better than the 3 OFers starting tonight, so not really relevant.

Agreed about the middle infield. Maybe someone out there can help.

I am bleeping so sick of this team.

The Brewers were 55-37 coming into the night. 18 games above .500.

The Miami Marlins were 38-56. 18 games below .500.

The Giants beat the Cubs in extra innings, meaning a win against a team that should be an automatic series win puts us 2.5 games up.

What happens? We lay an egg. Again. The bottom half of our lineup sucks balls. Our starting pitchers couldn't get into the sixth inning even once against a lineup filled with spares.

Peralta works 3 2/3 innings tonight.

Chacin worked 5 2/3 the night before.

Anderson worked 4 2/3 the series opener.

Miami's .682 OPS is second lowest in the NL, fourth lowest in baseball. Their 4.85 ERA is the worst in the NL, fourth worst in baseball.

And they take the series from us as the Brewers struck out 36 times in three games.

Winners beat the bad teams that they're supposed to beat. Losers find a way to f it up. And that's what this team is. It's what they always have been, and always will be. Losers. For forty f#$&%*^ years I have waited to see this team win a World Series. Just one. For thirty-five years, I have waited for them to even get back to the Series. The four expansion teams that joined the Majors in 1998 have all won pennants. The Diamondbacks an Marlins have won three World Series between them. And here we are, yet again, getting ready for our annual fall swoon.

Just wait for it. Our Milwaukee Brewers will once again find a way to break our hearts. We'll talk during the offseason about "how bright our future looks." Spare me. I've been hearing the same BS every year since I was a child.

I'm fed up.

Not including Lopez' at bat ... the guys who came off the bench today in either a double switch or a pinch hit appearance went 0-7 with a pair of walks. Not having Ryan Braun hurt us tonight. He hasn't been great, but he would have given us better at bats than what we ended up with.

It IS frustrating to have this kind of a series now against a bad team. Really discouraging to not only lose but blow out the pen in the process. This was a game that was going to eat at people if they didn't pull it off, and they did not.

I don't blame people for feeling "It's the Brewers, they're going to let us down." I'd be lying if I haven't had the same doubts at times and if some of you are honest, many of you have too. It's the same way Detroit Lions fans feel in Week 17 when they're facing Green Bay with the division on the line. It's tough to shake a reputation of failure and to some it never will be until success is proven.

Yet, here we all still are, so hopefully it will make it all the more rewarding one day.

Holy crap. I don't know where to start.

1) Breathe.

2) Breathe again.

3) "Winners beat the bad teams that they're supposed to beat." - The Brewers took the season series from the Marlins 5-2 ... so, check mark on that one?

4) "I am bleeping so sick of this team. " - We have the best record in the National League. Literally no team in the National League has had a better season to date than we have. What would your reaction be if we were a .500 team right now? What is acceptable to you? 80-13 record? 85-8 record?

5) "Losers find a way to f it up. And that's what this team is." - Once again, factually inaccurate. We have lost the least amount of any team who has to bat its pitchers.

6) "meaning a win against a team that should be an automatic series win" - If you really have been a baseball fan for 40 years, you would know this comment makes absolutely no sense. Bad teams win 70 games in a season or roughly 43% of their games. Very good team win 90 or roughly 55%. Good teams win about 12% more games than bad teams... that is a big deal, but not so much that you should lose your mind if a "bad" team wins a series over a "good" team.

7) "And here we are, yet again, getting ready for our annual fall swoon." - Again, I'm assuming you know this as you have been a great fan for forty f#$&%*^ years ... but we have had a fall collapse like, 6 total times in our history. Most of our history has us out of the race right about this time ... and Packers season getting our attention.

8) "I'm fed up." - Please call Mark Attanasio and tell him how bad a job David Stearns is doing. I would love to know what the response is.

9) Go to sleep. Try again tomorrow. Or don't, it won't hurt me that much if you jump off the bandwagon. This season has been a joy for me.

I get it. I appreciate the passion. Everything he said is true. It hurts. The Aguillar thing shows once again this team has the best fan base in the sport. It isn't too much to ask for them to win a series from the Marlins.

Yeah the Brewers list but Hader got another day off after pitching like once in the last week, which is clearly more important than winning

35 pitches on Monday. Off limits till today. I mean, they have done this all year regarding Hader's usage. You may not like it. I don't like it. But it is what it is, and they are sticking to it.

We went 5-2 (I believe) against them on the year. Not sure what we are expecting. Are the Cubs and/or Dodgers not supposed to get swept by the Reds? Are the Red Sox not supposed to lose a series to the White Sox? It happens. They didn't get to the record they have by not regularly beating bad (and some good) teams.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave
