I think the Schoop trade is a sore spot for some right now and there is a pretty long stretch of .500ish play, a lot of us are just getting anxious that they can't seem to turn the corner especially now that they have added some players. To the Brewers credit other than the Pirates 5 game series they have not really had any extended periods of bad play even though it may seem like it sometimes. A Sunday win would be nice, hopefully Anderson can keep the ball in the park today.

Not to oversimplify it, but I think that could go along way towards whether or not it’s a successful Sunday for Brewers.

 

So far this year...

 

Anderson has given up 0 home runs in 9 games, Brewers are 6-3 in those games.

 

Anderson has given up 1 home run in 6 games, Brewers are 3-3 in those games.

 

Anderson has given up 2 home runs in 7 games, Brewers are 2-5 in those games.

 

Chase has given up 3 home runs once this and the Brewers actually won that game versus the Cardinals (April 3rd).

 

With Newcomb on the mound for the Braves it seems like the room for error will be small for the Brewers pitchers today.

Throw in the week before the break, the overall under .500 record since June 1, and the state of the once deep bullpen and the apprehension is more understandable. Plus, it’s 12-10, not 12-9. The Dodger series on the road was 2-2.

Some players are more routine dependent than others. Some probably think baseball is baseball, some probably superstitious, that's CC job to know.

 

We have had drastic swings though. Thames from 1 to as low as 7 I think.

People place too much emphasis on where a batter hits in the order. Teams are going to pitch a batter the same way regardless of if they are hitting 1st, 4th, or 8th. The scouting reports don't change.

 

Perez has an OPS of .835 vs lefties and .949 in the second half. That is all-star quality right there!
