Well...I gotta say - Davies had his A game and the early bumps may have been ironed out. First time in my life I've been wrong ;)

Yeah I'm not holding out too much hope for him this season.

Didn't mind Hader facing Rizzo, just wanted something away. It was clear Rizzo was setup a little off the plate, expecting pitches inside compared to his previous at bat.

Would have loved to see Counsell use Soria or Knebel in the 8th and keep Hader available for another game in this series but I understand his thinking of trying to win this one. It sucks because those other guys in the pen haven't been trustworthy and it has affected many bullpen decisions.

3 of the next 4 up were lefties or guys you prefer to bat righty. I feel this was a no brainer to leave Hader in. IMO he was probably unavailable for the next two regardless. This was the safest choice he had. Bring in Jennings for these guys and people here would be crucifying him
