Channeling my inner Clancy:

Shaw to 1B, Hiura to 2B, Moustakas to 3B, Thames to RF, Yelich to CF

They may have to get creative.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

You forgot Braun to SS

You really have to think about demoting Shaw to the bench. A quarter of the season is almost gone and not only is he still an automatic out, he's not even hitting the ball all that hard. Hiura can't get up soon enough.

I believe Shaw will come around but platooning him and Aguilar is not a bad idea. They should be doing everything they can to trade Thames right now whether Cain is healthy or not.

Matt Kemp available
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Moose to SS so Braun can reclaim what is rightfully his.

Shaw still has options. Probably time to get him out for a couple weeks to figure things out and plug Hiura in.

Agreed. Shaw looks Arcia level lost.

Why Shaw instead of Moose with a lefty going is beyond me unless he's banged up. Shaw might as well take a rolled up newspaper up there against them.

The Capital Credit Union commercial can take a big hike too! That song stays in my head for hours after a game, and it needs to stop!

Davies is doing yeoman's work today. If he can get out of the 8th unscathed that would be a huge boost for a rested bullpen. Does Hader have enough for one inning?

Nelson AAA appearance: 3.1 IP, 3 R, 2 H, 4 BB, 3 K, 72 pitches, 40 strikes

Both hits singles. Threw more than I would have expected.

Davies borderline heroic today. When is the last time a Brewer pitcher threw over 120 pitches?

Would have liked to see Davies finish the 8th but wow just what we needed

CC wanted to get Davies enough IP so he wouldn't drop below the range for qualifying for the ERA title before his next start. Good guy Craig.

Seriously though, what a game for Davies. Exactly what we needed.

Shaw = Lost

He just looks like he’s dipping his shoulders, feeling for the ball, and producing almost nothing but weak pop ups. Obviously the couple of home runs last week were not a sign of snapping out of his funk.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I guess Nelson's start goes under the "results aren't important right now" category.

Yep......if ever one qualified this would be it

As long as his arm feels good.....will be interested to see velocity if they report it
