The last non-Bonds, non-Coors NLer was in 1948. The AL had a winner in 1948 as well.

In the AL, there have been a bunch of other winners too, who can get them:

1948 Williams

1957 Williams

1966

1967

1979

1980 Brett

2009

2013 Cabrera

Cabrera

Palmiero?

Brett?

Williams

Maris?

Did the team decline to offer him a contract renewal?

The line they are using is “the sides have agreed to part ways following the conclusion of Maddon’s contract.”

My guess is the Cubs had no intention of offering him a contract renewal. Maddon said, “hopefully I get a chance to do this somewhere else.”

Not just “at Night” anymore.

I think it's gotta be later than the third inning. It would have to be like a 5 run difference in like the 7th.

What if it's an 8 run difference in the 3rd?

I jusr have thia weird feeling the brewers will pitch the back of the bullpen scrubs and lose this game and the cubs will blow up late and come back and win like 10-9.

Major props to you if this ends up being right. But I think the Cubs are probably almost all in the offseason mentally at this point. Probably ready to finish this up and start packing.
