This has the look of another Suter victory.

Hold

or not

That was extremely predictable. Question will be if the Brewers can retake and hold the lead for win #9.

And so will the 10% drop in his spin rate he's shown lately.

His spin rate was down a bit, but not close to 10% from his season averages. Overall he still has very high spin rates. The slider that says he was down -245 from his season average tonight is deceiving because he threw 15 sliders, and one was tagged at 1517 RPM (extremely low). That obviously dragged down his average, but he also threw a slider at 2950 RPM tonight.

Maybe in addition to spin rate, changing the feel of a pitcher’s grip will adversely affect his command on location.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I'm watching the Brewers on the normal 1309.

On my Spectrum channel lineup, the lead Bally Sports Wisconsin channel is 31 or 1309. 1310 is a second Bally channel that sometimes has Brewers games when there is a conflict, like the Bucks and Brewers playing at the same time. But, even if the Bucks figure out a way not to lay down and die in Brooklyn, there shouldn’t be any more of those conflicts this season because the remaining playoff games are on national networks.

Yeah, the lack of ability to have confidence in a lighter grip is certainly a big, sudden change for pitchers. Trying to throw a chalky ball that is inconsistently prepared by clubhouse staff with MLB’s Delaware River mud, and now left to throw it without any grip substance beyond the rosin bag is a pretty big change for [what is likely] the majority of major league pitchers.

I am curious to see if MLB incorporates something similar the already tacky out of the box baseball used in NPB for next season.

This series has the feel of those frequent 4 and 5 game sweeps in Pittsburgh when the opponent essentially scores runs on demand.

Hitting into 4 double plays tonight... sort of incredible.

So far in Coors Field this series they’ve hit into 7 double plays in 17 innings.

Bill talking the Rockies up like they’re actually good.

Rockies are 24-14 at home this season, there are only 6 teams in MLB with better home records than them.

Yes! Yes!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
