They're struggling because Counsell put out a lineup that sucks. 1-4 is okay but it's hard to really get anything going when over half of your lineup is basically an automatic out. Saying "it's just baseball" doesn't really fly here.

Of course it does. It happens all the time. He put out a similar lineup the other day and scored plenty of runs. They have also lost games with the "A" lineup.

 

Yes, sometimes a lineup this bad will score a good amount of runs. Usually a lineup this bad will struggle to score runs, like today. They're not struggling because they're facing a soft tossing lefty, they're struggling because they suck and the most likely outcome in a game with this many bad hitters is the team struggling to score runs.

I like Yelich’s approach when he’s not getting pitches. But he had some center cut fastballs he missed in that AB.

 

There’s going to come a day when the Brewers are going to need Yelich to help them get to the promised land. It hasn’t been yet, but that day is coming.
