So with Winston back to the Saints, is there any place left for Mayfield to actually go?

Seattle and Carolina (I think) are the only real 'open' spots. You could probably add Pittsburgh and Philly. Maybe the Giants take a flyer on Mayfield? His guaranteed $19M or whatever he's making will make it hard for the Browns to find a taker.

Hill to the Dolphins

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Return for Hill is almost the exact same as the Davante return in terms of value. More picks involved and the 2nd three spots higher in the 2nd but this is negated by the difference in value between 22 and 29 overall.

Whoa. The NFL never sleeps. This is nuts. Wonder what KC's pivot looks like.

I will say this:

The Packers and Chiefs are clearly led by intelligent people. Both leadership teams saw their respective Gaps were too large to bridge and acted very very quickly. That is not easy to do. And, as a fan: I love all this off-season activity. This is nuts!

Ah, remember when Davante Adams was the NFL's highest paid WR for like 5 or 6 days? Good times.

It's amazing. I swear, this happens every time.

Reported that the Jets have offered 10 and 38 for Tyreek Hill.  That would make 22 and 53 not look so great.....

Reported now that there was no first round pick for Hill in the Jets offer.

When I heard about the trade, at first I was upset that the Chiefs got 3 more picks then the packers, but this is a good point. I would much rather have 22 and the higher 2nd, than some extra 4's and a 6.

If the reports of the Jets offer is correct, than the Chiefs obviously did Hill a solid rather than taking the better offer.

Jets offer was 526 total points

Chiefs offer was 319 total points.

Packers value was 359 total points

(i would imagine that the Jets offered less than 10 and 38)

From NFL.com the Packers were in the mix for Hill. Interesting as I don't know how they would be able to fit him under the cap without multiple extensions/restructuring to other players.

Edit: NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported the Jets' offer did not include one of their two first-round picks (Nos. 4 and 10 overall), but would have included their two second-rounders (No. 35 and 38).

How many games until reports come out that Hill doesn't like playing with a crappy QB and wants out of Miami?

Does feel like it might be a “what have I gotten myself into” contest between him and Adams, doesn’t it?

Yep, looking at what they got, there is no way #10 was in play.

Rams lose Von Miller off the edge...plug in Bobby Wagner in their Middle.

Quote

All-Pro veteran linebacker Bobby Wagner chose the powerful draw of remaining on the West Coast and playing for the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams.

The former Seattle Seahawks standout has signed a five-year contract with a base value of $50 million and a maximum value of $65 million, per a league source.

Did the Buccaneers find a loophole to the Rooney Rule? And if so, who will use it now?

I read that it fulfills the Rooney rule because they only need to have one in person interview with a minority candidate and the hiring counts as a fulfillment of that.

Not so.

"In 2022, a different Rooney Rule applies. Now, the rule requires two interviews of external minority candidates. Thus, even though the Buccaneers have elevated a Black assistant coach to the position of head coach, the process technically violates the terms of the Rooney Rule, since the Buccaneers should have connected a search that included at least two external minority interviews.

But there’s a twist, one that previously hadn’t been revealed in nearly 20 years of the Rooney Rule. According to the NFL, the Rooney Rule doesn’t apply after March 1, because coaching staffs essentially become locked on March 1. The Buccaneers couldn’t conduct a search consisting of assistant coaches from other teams, because after March 1 teams are no longer required to allow assistant coaches to interview for head-coaching jobs. Thus, the Buccaneers were able to make a hire without interviewing at least two external minority candidates."

Apparently 24 yo Dwayne Haskins was struck and killed by a car this morning? Man, that is tragic. Prayers and sympathies to his friends and loved Ones.
