So far sea is reported as receiving Shelby Harris, Drew lock, and "multiple picks". Curious what the picks will end up being.

Rodgers was plugging up the NFL GI tract.

I like me some Shelby Harris. Personally, I think Drew Lock is a nice back-up and nothing more. Will definitely be interesting to see the picks.

Two 1sts, Two 2nds and a 5th along with Harris, Lock and Noah Fant for Wilson and a 4th

That seems insane.

Wow, Fant too? Noooice. That's an interesting trade. It's too bad the Seahawks can't draft or I'd like it even more. LOL.

Well we're looking at what a Rodgers trade would have looked like.

Roughly. The Packers trade would have been slightly richer I have to imagine - 2 consecutive MVP's and all and the recency bias of Brady's stellar play...and Russ hasn't been his best Russ consistently in over 1.5 seasons.

Nice, Wilson out of the NFC.

Seattle might be scary in a few years - but for now, that removes one more potential contender in our conference.

I'm guessing you're right - but even if it had been the same thing - it's still a haul.

My guess is very similar. It'll be a package that is debated among Packer fans for years. Will all be water under the bridge if Rodgers gets a SB win in the next few years.

I was good either way, keep him or trade him. Just didn't want to see him retire and lose him and whatever compensation a trade would have brought.

I think the draft picks are spot on, the players being exchanged might have differed a bit.

Harris and Fant would have made sense for what the Packers like to do. Not real sure on Lock, unless the Packers would have wanted to give Love some competition. Jeudy wouldn't have surprised me instead of Fant.

I agree with this. It amuses me, however, to consider that this single sentence summarizes—what, 80, 90 percent?—of the conversations about the Packers for the last decade. It’s all Groundhog Day.

It's a beautiful thing watching Seattle slowly fall apart because they prioritized Pete Carroll and his 'Program' over building an Offensive Line around an incredible qb. Wild times. The team the city of Seattle deserves if you ask me.

To go off of this there was a trade in place between the Bears and the Seahawks last year that Carrol killed at the last minute. It was supposedly Mack, 2 1st's, and other picks to Seattle for Wilson and picks.

That deal being killed last year I wonder which one would have been better for Seattle? Seattle probably has a top 5 pick this year and another in the 10-15 range with the Bears pick. I think pick wise it would be a wash. Now the players that the Seahawks got back now is that better than Mack?

What I am seeing online is that the general feeling is the return was light. I think it was a good trade for Seattle. I would think they would have preferred more picks than players since they are clearly rebuilding.

While i am happy that Rodgers is back, i wouldn't have been too upset with that move. Would have hoped for another 1st instead of Harris/Lock.

And over in the Big Apple, the Giants can celebrate the possible signing Mitch Trubisky and engaging talks with Blake Martinez. Perspective for us spoiled Packers fans really matters. LOL.

I wouldn't count Seattle's own picks into the equation....not having Wilson in 2021 could have led them to having a top 5 pick in 2022...but they're in the same situation this year so a Wilson-less team maybe gives them a top 5 pick in 2023. So I see that as just being a wash.

If one goes by Pro Football Reference's Appoximate Value metric, Mack has been good for 28 AV over the last three seasons (11 in 2019, 14 in 2020 and 3 in 2021), whereas Harris has been good for 23 AV over that same timeframe (9, 5, 9). Harris missed 5 games in 2020, Mack missed 11 games in 2021. Mack is the better player and certainly a more dynamic pass-rusher, but the difference when looking at the overall game probably isn't as great as one would think. And Fant being a former first rounder and good for 600+ yards and 4 TDs per season with a pretty mediocre QB, I don't think it's crazy to suggest that the combination of Harris and Fant and Lock are in the same ballpark value-wise as Mack. Mack is primarily a pass-rusher and hasn't had a 10-sack season since 2018, only appeared in 7 games last season...could be on the downside...maybe or maybe not...we'll see.

The big difference to me is that Chicago's first round pick in 2021 was #21 (turned into a higher pick after a trade up), and Denver's first round pick in 2022 is #9....so Seattle is picking 12 spots higher by not taking the Bear's offer. And Seattle got Wilson for that extra year to basically prove (at least cut down on a lot of second-guessing) that it was time to move on.

Overall I think Seattle did the right thing by holding onto Wilson and trading him now.

With all the QB trades, the Vikings sports announcers are sitting there drooling over the potential of trading Cousins. But I'm thinking they are going to be disappointed and he stays. Granted, I can't imagine a scenario where they'd find a better QB for next year anyway... I wouldn't mind seeing a trade to the Colts; I've actually like Cousins and would like to root for him. :laughing

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The Vikings are certainly in no-man's land...New GM and coach, still-talented but aging defense, huge skill position talent on offense in their prime with problems up front on the O-line, salary cap problems despite poor quality depth. If they trade Cousins they are essentially blowing it all up and mightaswell trade Cook and Thielen, too. Or they hold onto everyone to try and retool as a mid-tier playoff team that could make a run, but only have 7 draft picks in 2022 to work with (4 of them in rounds 5-6).

If I'm their new GM I do opt to blow it up, get a bunch of draft capital this year and next via trades, and hope to find their QB in next year's draft assuming they find themselves picking in the top 5 after a bad 2022 record.

Bears trade Mack to Chargers. 2023 2nd round and 2023 6th round picks in return.

And the Bears get fleeced again.

i think they did OK. Mack is a good player but a shell of his former self. to get a 2nd and 6th is pretty good. Probably would have been a better trade if they were in the 2022 draft.

That's kind of the issue- one year removed picks are valued less for obvious reasons. Plus, adding Mack to the team hypothetically has a negative impact on the slot of the Chargers' picks since they're hypothetically better. I'm pretty shocked they didn't get a 2022 pick.

EDIT: The tweet above is poorly worded- it appears the 2nd is indeed for 2022.

In addition, this actually ACCELERATES 6 mil onto their cap, so they're not even saving money.
