With the wind bowing out Urias managed to hit one 20 feet from the plate and Yelich got an exit velocity of zero.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I just don't see how Small can survive long-term in the majors with his combination of no velocity and no command.

Same thing was said about Freddy....

Velocity isn't everything. Small has incredible spin rate on his 'heat' so his fastball combined with the change really sneaks up on hitters. This isn't the issue. Longevity will ultimately depend on, IMHO, can he fine-tune a third pitch. He has plenty of stuff to carve out an early role. It's more a 'Where does he go from here?' on my end. But, the spin rate has been discussed a bit down in Nashville - in interviews, in-game etc.

Unsolicited, fwiw.

I think Freddy threw much harder and had much better control, not good but still not like Small. Small is all over the place. Personally, I've already seen enough.

Small is done.

Going to be a long day for the bullpen.

5 full counts in the inning. I feel like this is what happened with Lindblom. But Small is young and can eventually master an “out” pitch which will be effective at this level.

At what point does Yelich's girly arm make him a minus defensive outfielder?

I think that's already been the case for a number of years.

Command will need to get better but being wild as a young pitcher is something that can be improved upon…….heck velocity can also be improved…..ie Eric Lauer
