I get all the batted ball data, but calling a homerun a popup is silly.  If you hit a homerun, you hit a ball pretty well.  I think people are taking this data to the extreme at certain points and trying to use it to make it say what they want it to say.

Not really if that ball is hit to center field it’s a pop up……or a lazy fly out to center…..whatever you want to call it…..expected batting average tells you that a ball with that velocity and that launch angle almost never hurts you…..that one did.

Sort of like defending Yelich and his exit velocity when it really doesn’t matter how hard you hit your ground balls.
