Brewers now on pace to win 93.78947368 games this season.

Hopefully, when we look back at this season, May and June will be the low point due to a difficult schedule and several injuries coming at the same time after a first 26 games that featured a lot of series against teams that were really struggling at the time.

Since that 18-8 start in which the Brewers outscored their opponents 128-87, they have gone 15-16 and been outscored 121-137.  That record is worse than the Reds (17-13) and virtually the same as the Pirates (14-15). It's hard to know at this point how much of that is stronger opponents, the road heavy schedule with few days off, injuries, or just subpar performance.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yelich batting leadoff tonight. You just love to see it. Could be the key to unlocking the offense, especially now that Adames is back. Now, the main thing is we need a solid start from Houser, who, while great overall on the season, has been prone to "blow-up" starts from time to time. As someone pointed out to me last night (forget who it was), we have managed to hit Nola pretty hard over his career.

CC must have read the 2022 Brewers Offense thread.

This lineup is something of a variation of the one I was proposing a few days ago. It’s affected by Wong and Narvaez being out and Taylor getting a day off as he has been showing the strain of trying to carry the offense the last two weeks.

I don’t understand why you’d put McCutchen 5th and Renfroe 7th instead of the other way around unless they think it might be easier on Renfroe’s hamstring having two weak hitters behind him. If he gets on base he probably won’t have to run much anyway.

The way things stand now, when Wong and Narvaez are available I would be inclined to use Peterson against RHP and rotate him through positions to let some of the regulars take a turn at DH, much like they did when McCutchen was out. Peterson has contributed a lot more than McCutchen over the last month.

Yes, this is tonight. Note that the activities are not on the field but in a beer garden and out in the right field corner of the upper level. So, they should be easy to avoid.

I had to chuckle at some of the comments about this not being family friendly. Is that as compared to the two fisted slobber hurling obscenities for much of the night?

Chalk it up to whatever you want to, the bottom line is the offense needs to start performing.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

That's the only bone I have to pick with this batting order, I wonder if it's simply a byproduct of it being only Renfroes' second game back, along with Cutch starting to put up better ABs. Big picture, I would also imagine Renfroe a spot or two higher. As for McCutcheon, I have no idea where he would settle in, especially if our new leadoff hitter starts getting on base consistently.

The mini slump needs to end tonight. Hader picked a bad time to have his first hiccup in almost a year.

You had to figure he'd be hit on sooner or later.  Let's hope he will go on another scoreless run starting tonight.

Sounds like Woodruff’s IL stint is going to be longer than the 15 day minimum.

Shocker.

The Brewers are catching the Phillies at a bad time. They are suddenly a confident team.

Houser bringing the heat tonight. I'm sure he'd make a great reliever, but he's doing just fine as a starter.

Look at this comedian comedianing.

You see his stats as a starter the last year and a half? One inning doesn't change that.

Yeah, a lot of walks, not a lot of strikeouts and an inability to get LHB out.  Sounds like a reliever.
