Brewers have better pitching than the Cardinals (when healthy). Our problem is Woodruff and Peralta both being out. That's equivalent to Arenado and Edman being out for the Cards on the hitting side of things.

Yeah we have better pitching when healthy but we aren't and Peralta won't be back till August if we are lucky.

You've left out the AL East teams and LA and SF. It would be nice to play Cincy and Pittsburgh every game but the schedule doesn't quite work that way.

Never said it did. And we only play the AL East teams once, you realize (except for Tampa)....We play teams like Cincy, Pittsburgh, and Chicago significantly more than that. Yes, we still have to play LA, but then we also get teams like Colorado and Arizona.

Woodruff is likely coming back next week followed shortly by Ashby. That'll help ALOT.

The sooner the better. We have too many minor league pitchers on this staff right now.

Good job by Alexander getting through that part of the Cards lineup. But he cannot be allowed to face them again, regardless of his pitch count. Hopefully Counsell realizes that. He sure as heck didn't last night with Lauer, and it literally cost us the game.

Took the walk anyway.

But now it's bases loaded, no outs. This is exactly where the Cards want the Brewers (unfortunately).

Yep.Barely even a scoring threat for this offense.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I don't know if the stat exists, but over the last 5 years or so, the Brewers have to be amongst the worst teams in the league in scoring runs with the bases loaded and nobody out, or runner on 3rd with less than two outs.

It sure seems like it.  Bughghgh!

And I'm tired of the radio guys saying, "At least we made the pitcher throw a lot of pitches." Who cares? we need to HIT some of those pitches.
