Up and coming Timber Rattlers Ace, RHP Justin Jarvis will take the Hill tonight for the first time post-All Star break. Coming into last night’s game:

(1) Justin was tied for the League lead in strikeouts

(2) Led the League in Starts

(3) Led the League in innings pitched

(4) Tied for 2nd in Wins

Hopefully we get a vintage 2022 Jarvis outing of 7 IP, and 10k’s!

And we’ve got a Justin Topa sighting!

Awesome sauce! Let’s hope he stays healthy and can get that arm back slingin’!

Carolina is looking to bounce back from yesterday's loss as they began their Game 2 at 2 pm EST. Starting on the mound was RHP Edwin Jimenez looking to get the club back in the 'W' column. Through 4 innings pitched, Edwin has held the Wood Ducks to zero runs scattering 5 hits and a walk. Mudcats lead 2-0.

OF Hendry Mendez continues his recent surge at the plate with a lead-off solo blast in the first inning (I do absolutely love that swing):

As noted above, RHP and up-and-coming stud Justin Jarvis looks to get his ball club back to winning - the T-Rats are riding a six game losing skid and are now 12-10 in the second half trailing first place South Bend by 3.0 games. Hopefully, they can see similar offensive production as last night's near comeback (but less runs against):

I don't know about you, but this current Shuckers line-up feels like one OF Joey Wiemer hot streak from really tearing things up. I look up and down this card and see multi-hit nights waiting to happen - they are loaded and relatively healthy for a change (fingers crossed!). Let's hope we can get more magic from LHP Brandon Knarr in his breakout season and let's hope we can see these Shuckers go on a run (I feel like I've been saying that, well, every month?). Coming off LHP Nick Bennett's fantastic Game 1 outing, they'll look to make it two straight victories as they take on their rivals in Pensacola.

We have our INF Keston Hiura sighting for the Sounds. Tonight's lineup card is in as the Sounds look to take a 2-0 series lead in Louisville with RHP Dylan File looking to find that dominant form from two starts ago in Columbus:

Chourio with a ho hum for him one for three with a 2B & BB game.

Link report favorite Ryan Middendorf notches his first Carolina save with 2 H | 1 K in his scoreless ninth.

Turang (1-4, HR, BB), Hiura (1-5, 2B, only 1K), Almonte (2-5, 2B), Singleton (2-4, 2B, BB), Reyes (3-5, 2B) and Whitley (1-3, 2B, BB) weren’t quite enough as Nashville pitchers gave up a ten spot.

Turang showing some more power lately. With Peterson's injury, could it finally be his time?

Will be interesting to see which way they go. If regular PAs aren’t going to be available & they don’t think Jace will be out too long, will probably leave Turang in AAA for now.

True. His defense will definitely play though which is why I would be tempted if I were Stearns.

That Shuckers line-up is just so loaded with interesting prospects. Frelick definitely seems to be the top one out of the group, but the other 3 OFers all have good reasons to keep track of them. Add in Valerio and Devanney and there is a lot to like.

Not much of note in the boxes for a pair of DSL losses aside from RF Yeison Perez (2-4, 2B) staying hot to raise his season line to 321/389/691 in approaching 100 PAs.

RHP Nash Walters has still not given up a single run since June 9th. He has been rock solid for well over a month. Another scoreless inning of work in the Biloxi pen with 2 k’s.

Pretty sure Mitchell ran into some tough luck for his first double of the night. It looked like a homer that bounced off of something and came back into play. Obviously no replay in the minors. Be that as it may nice to see Mitchell scorching hot right now.

Just returned home from the Shuckers game tonight.  Frelick looked awesome.  Mitchell with a couple really nice catches in deep center that didn't look like he would have a play on when the ball was hit.  Some errors led to a couple runs which made the difference.  I loved the Marvel jerseys so much tonight that I bought Weimers' at the auction.
