Happy Jacob Misioroski Day! Really pumped to see how he does to close out the year. Didn’t think we’d see him until 2023.

I feel like a kid coming in throwing 100+mph needs a nickname.  Something along the lines of "wild thing"

Jacob's Ladder, cuz the kid's got scary stuff.

20-year old RHP Jacob Misiorowski (2nd round selection in 2022) makes his organizational debut, aiming to help Low-A Carolina turn around a 2-0 series deficit at home against Columbia. 1B Jesus Chirinos has put together a 17-game on-base streak and it's great to see 2022 first round pick Eric Brown Jr. back atop the order and playing shortstop:

After homering in 3 straight games as a DH since a return from injury, this marks CF Jackson Chourio's first game back in the outfield, as he looks to lead High-A Wisconsin to a 3-0 series lead in Peoria. RHP Israel Puello (5.46 ERA in Low-A/High-A) will strive to duplicate his terrific last start (6 1/3 IP, 1 R (0 ER), 1 H, 5 BB, 6 Ks):

Just-turned 24-year old RHP Victor Castaneda (4.14 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 9.5 K/9 in 95 2/3 innings) needs to turn the page on two rough outings in order to help Biloxi avoid a 3-0 series hole on the road against Rocket City. C/1B Wes Clarke (7-game hitting streak; homered in his AA debut yesterday) gets his first start behind the plate with the Shuckers:

RHP Marcus Walden (5.50 ERA in 37 2/3 IP with the Sounds) threw 72 pitches 4 days ago, but gets the start tonight for AAA Nashville, who's tied 1-1 in their series at home against Memphis. Leadoff CF Sal Frelick has a 19-game on-base streak for the club:

Well that was unfortunately underwhelming: Jacob Misiorowski walked 4 of the first 5 batters and exited after just 32 pitches with 1 out in the 1st inning. Three of those walks went to full counts.

Mudcats trail 3-1 early, but Robert Moore has homered (1st of minor league career).

Eh...probably some nerves. The additional context provided by da Twitta helps and also does not make me want to see "robot umps."

On the other hand, if it gets rid of Angel Hernandez, I'm pretty much open to ANY other alternative!

But a ball 4 on a pitch clock violation and then a ball 4(both on 3-2 counts) that one digital strike zone had as a strike and the robot umps didn't, it paints a rosier picture than just 1/3rd and 4BBs that show up on the line.

Most importantly, he looked good, throwing 100 with good late bite on the curve. So, I'm about ready to call this one. Future deGrom on our hands here!

He kind of gets lost amid the Chourio, Nashville five (now three) and Gasser hype, but just a reminder Jeferson Quero is the youngest catcher in high-A.

I haven't gotten to see him yet, but everything I see suggests he's a REALLY advanced catcher defensively.

That's kinda wild. If he was just 19 and hitting like he is at HiA you'd assume he'd have work to do defensively, but he really seems and sounds impressive from what I've heard about him.

This Latin American thing...just going out on a limb here, I could be wrong...but it seems like a pretty good idea to invest into the scouting and development down there!

Quero has the potential to be the total package I am going to keep pounding the table for him in the monthly rankings.

I think I had him 6th...IIRC.

That felt pretty high given I've LONG been a huge Turang fan boy, and then Frelick, Mitchell, Wiemer, Black and obviously Chourio feels like an obvious one.

Where do you have him? I'll guess ahead of Black. Maybe Turang as I think I like him better than others. Ahead of the AAA OFers?

I had him fourth. Might fall to fifth with Wiemer starting to hit again, but honestly I think he is right up there with all those guys. Chourio seems to be a clear 1. After that, there is a lot of what do you value more in the rest of the top 10.

Devanney smashed his 19th HR in a 2-for-4 night. Garabitos with more scoreless work in Zebulon. Quero continues to showcase his incredible talents. Robert Moore smashed his first long ball. Turang chases the International League total hits leaderboard with a three hit night. Big Jon Singleton goes deep again in a 4-for-4 night.

There’s always something good on the Farm.

I had him 4th in the latest polling. For the next one probably will have him back to 3rd behind Chourio and Frelick but will have to think about where Gasser should go ahead of him or not.

Thrilled they've gotten Misiorowski's feet wet professionally no matter what the results were.  He's going to get an offseason to develop physically and come into spring training next year ready to dominate.
