Anyone catch Counsell's interview yesterday? Pretty sure he admitted Hader trade was a mistake.

I believe he said something along the lines of they underestimated the clubhouse impact. The trade itself was a success, they got the better pitcher for those last 2 months and 2 pretty good prospects in Gasser & Ruiz.

Apparently CC was on high heat radio show yesterday and said they are not trading Adames.

Arnold was just on TV today and although he didn’t flat out say they weren’t t trading Burnes and Woodruff he strongly implied they would be with the Brewers in 23.

Think it’s probably a good idea to just assume those 3 will not be traded until at least the deadline.

Unless of course something leaks from a reputable source.

Yeah in my mind, it’s pretty clear they’re going to give it one more try with Burnes, Woodruff and Adames. If the team is struggling at the deadline, then it’s fair game as far as trading these guys. If not at the deadline, then next offseason for sure.

From the "Tell us something we don't already know" department....

Vasquez is reportedly on a lot of teams' radars. Might even take a four year offer to get him.

The dominos might have to fall first - meaning Contreras gets signed, and Sean Murphy gets dealt.

After those guys find new teams, then it's Vasquez's turn.

Unfortunately, a lot of teams need catching. So it's gonna cost to add the guy.

Can someone explain why Jansen is brought up a lot? Is it known the Jays want to trade him? Is it just this board wishful thinking? I'm genuinely asking; don't pay attention like a lot of you do. Thanks.

2.9bWAR/2.6 fWAR in 2022 in only 248 PAs.  1.3/1.4 in 205 PAs in 2021.

After what happened last year psychologically to the team after trading Hader , I HIGHLY doubt we trade any of the 3 at the deadline this season.  The only way that happens is if we are burried in the standings with no playoff chance in sight.

If any of those 3 are going to be traded, it will be this off season, or next off season.  IMO.

If the Brewers are trading Adames, Burnes or Woodruff at the mid point of the season then the Brewers will be out of the playoff hunt.  So a trade then makes sense for any of them.

MLBTR reporting 4/72 for Taijuan Walker to the Phils.

He has essentially been a more durable Lauer/Houser over the last three seasons…

Walker 2020-22
369 IP | 97 ERA- | 103 FIP-

Houser 2020-22
301 IP | 98 ERA- | 104 FIP-

Lauer 2020-22
288 IP | 93 ERA- | 106 FIP-

With these large contracts given to starting pitchers I do have to give credit to the Brewers for trying to lock up starters like Peralta and Ashby. Would have been nice to have done the same to one of Burnes/Woodruff as well, do wonder if they ever came close to reaching an extension.
