Chourio 3

Frelick 41

Quero 45

Wiemer 91

Tyler Black 96.

No Turang. No Mitchell or Ruiz either (I think they’d be eligible under his criteria but I don’t know their total service time).

Quero is just going to keep climbing that list.

It will be interesting to see where he lands mid season or end of the 2023 season.

Peak is probably top 25 unless he starts to hit more.  Defensively there is no question he is a top catcher and probably could be starting in Milwaukee now.  The issue is his offense right now but as long as he can become a .250/.300/.300 catcher that should be fine with the type of defense he provides.

Keith Law is far from perfect but he's one of the evaluators I trust most. He has some blind spots but sticks to his guns and isn't afraid to stray outside conventional thought on a prospect.

With that said, it surprises me not at all he left Mitchell off the list but am also impressed he put five Brewers on his top 100, including three in the top 50. Nice.

I think the big thing Quero is getting knocked for in many places is his shrinking walk rate, particularly with the Rattlers. If he can somehow get that back close to double digits without the K rate spiking, he should shoot up prospect lists fairly quickly.

That's funny, because I trust him the least. And he can be a thin-skinned ****** in the comment section at The Athletic.

I don't even think he's thin-skinned but he's overly abrasive for my tastes. It's one of my least favorite traits of his commentary and analysis. He's obviously super-knowledgeable about baseball, I don't get why he tends to be rude and condescending. His works suffers for it, IMO.

I was trying to figure out how I had never heard of this Peak guy and was trying to find out who he was.

Also on a more relative note, in the Q&A's after, Law was asked if Steven Kwan was a good comp for Sal Frelick, to which he answered

"No, Frelick's faster, a better defender and I think he's going to make harder contact too"

It's not surprising he would say that about Frelick. Law didn't even have Kwan on his top 100 last season.

Brewers are 8th in Klaw's overall minor league system rankings.

ESPN's Kiley McDaniel is less bullish on the youngsters, placing the system 15th, and having only Chourio (11), Frelick (46) and Turang (72) in his top 100.
